Steak & Kidney Pie

I really really fancy a steak & kidney pie. What's the next best thing to home made? Plenty of excuses for not doing my own at the moment! (individual please, not family size....so sad).

Sitting here bracing myself for opening my little packet of asafoetida - also known as devil's dung and stinking gum...! Apparently you have to store it more closely than uranium once you've opened the packet or everything else will smell of it=:0 Some say it's very tasty once it's cooked and it helps digestion, others say it's just a religious thing that some sects will use instead of garlic and onion because garlic and onion make them, er, horny, not to put too fine a point on it. Really?? Well whatever, alas I don't need cooling down but I'm curious to try it as it's a traditional spice. I just love Indian.
Aww Jude, it's apparent you're the right woman in the right place. Fifteen minutes sounds good too, it stays fun. Ha ha I had a laugh at the thought of Lottie's olive tree taking off literally:)
Jno perhaps they're afraid she's changed her mind and is now in fact planning to "work another day in her life" - the horror, the horror! I hope they stop bugging her and start bugging your son instead Robi. No I don't. Well a little. You know what I mean. How are we doing for homes BTW? I probably have some lying around but don't have the time right now-now - shall I have a look tonight and send you one?
I loved your Morrison over at the drawing site Vinny. Well good luck today England and good luck today Germany and good luck Shaney on maintaining your sanity he he he.

Yes, new home please Kit.
The strange thing is they checked my son out until there was nothing left to dissect but they don't want to know anything about my daughter in law. The general idea seems to be, if you're squeaky clean then your wife must be too. It's those little monkeys they need to be wary of, they don't know what's coming to them :o)
A gypsy told me long ago I should have been a teacher. Well one at a time or small groups would be ideal but not a whole room full of them, especially they way some are now. Why do they scream so? Yesterday I could hear a girl a few doors up the road (not a baby/toddler) having what sounded like a massive tantrum...screaming & kicking or hitting something. Jeez, I was just thankful she's not next door. There's a family who just try to outscream each other over the back & yet the mother's 'too good' to speak to anyone but a chosen few. They've got a flag flapping from upstairs. If I could climb I'd swap it in the night for my tartan blanket.

Hello all, yes jno immigration types seem to be pains in the proverbial all over the world. When i was travelling in and out of the US (on my own) I used to get the third degree on why Mr W's job couldn't be done by an American, and oh yes the threat about what would happen if I got caught working.
I am another one of the vivid dream brigade...sometimes they are really good stories and I am so annoyed when i wake up and don't find out the ending.
jude I used to do a similar thing with adults in Surrey years ago. I used to go to the local mental health facility and do classroom assistant to the visiting teacher.
Ha Kit, synchronised falling over sounds like a Monty Python sketch.
We had a lovely normal day today. Lie in cos pup still isn't allowed a run then leisurely brekkie, DH drove us to town(!) and read the paper in the car while I shopped (shady carpark) then we bought the dogs a burger and came home. I bought this lamp

Its beautiful, I bought the smaller version a couple of months ago but decided I really needed the larger one. The webpicture doesn't really do it justice.

Is it all over bar the punch ups? :o)
Lovely lamp woofy... that's spooky because this morning I was wondering how many couples were arguing in Ikea about being home in time for the footy... haha
Yes shaney it is a sad picture. At the time it was live & I could see him talking on his mobile to his wife & wafting his arm about - he got that from me & his dad. If someone had cut our arms off we'd never have had a conversation :o)
Anyway he rang me about 2pm our time & was on the phone for longer than when he lived here. He had 2 lizards in the house last night & he caught one but it shed it's tail & left him standing there holding it...ewww, haha :o)

I totally agree Shaney and Neti we were rubbish. I know I'm bragging but I did say a fortnight ago that I didn't think we would do very well but I hoped I would have to eat my words and why we can't have an English manager I don't know. We missed out the best manager we could have had. Any idea Vinny?!!
Now I hope Spain or Germany Win. What about a Germany and Spain Final. I don't know if they would be likely to meet though. I can never work it out.

All those good premier league players just couldn't do it on the day could they. I personally think it's the manager. He can't even speak English properly so how can he have a man to man convo with them. He may be a very nice man but we don't want a nice man we want a football 'manager'.
I'll calm down in a bit... :)
