does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

I don't get the one in a car thing...if you are self isolating together what is the problem....also what do people do who don't drive?
Keep safe all of you x
You too Apc. Look after yourself.
On the local news earlier they said there are three cases at the James Paget which is only up the road from us and one is a newly born baby. Both mother and baby are in the ICU.Very sad.Hopefully they'll pull through.
I'm now finding it quite frightening. It seems very unreal, like a movie. I am being very strict with self-isolation. I feel very vulnerable these days. I cancelled an important hospital appointment yesterday. I am not prepared to sit in a waiting room! I heard today about about the poor mum and baby. Its going to be a long haul. X
Try not to let it overwhelm you.Easier said than done I know.I've stopped watching any national news and just watch the local one otherwise my stress levels rocket.
Like you I don't get about very much at all now and I was looking forward to the spring weather so I could get out just a bit with the aid of my wheelie walker. It'll now be gathering dust in the hallway.
KBO gal ,we'll get though it ,chin up.I'm off to bed to lose myself in a good book.
Night night xx
Morning Apc and all regulars...looks like being a dismal, wet day which does nowt to lift the spirits.

Oh dear neti, you do sound exasperated (but the canesten made me titter). One person per car has to be the daftest thing I've heard. Chin up girl, we can get through this. Yes, no Holby for the second week running, how dare they.

I have a mini panic now and then but getting overly anxious won't do any anything for the immune system. In fact I'm more angry about this than anything.
I rang the tree surgeon yesterday about a couple of big jobs and he's coming to look. They're outdoors, I obviously stay clear and if it's not done soon another year will have gone by.
I'm assuming my mobile hairdresser won't be coming out, she has a small child, I'll text later. I'll have to wear a headscarf under my tiara :(

Hoping we (and our families) all stay well x
Just saw this on FB, hope it works on here

I have been out and got a couple of hearing aids fitted so you won't all have to type so loudly now. Took the opportunity to pop into a Tesco and Lidl, but all the usual shortages. Apparently our Sainsburys is holding an oldies hour first thing tomorrow so we might back our pantechnicon up to the entrance and start shopping.

morning all.
well afternoon.....same old same old here. Still plans for Sis to arrive sunday but she is ready to move earlier if needed. The thing is her house insurance only covers her for it being empty for 90 days so after that she will have to put other cover in place....not an issue but something else to think about. The only thing I haven't got nailed is getting sufficient and regular fresh stuff for the torts but the garden is sprouting and I will do my best. KBO all hello Apc :)
the trains and tubes are a lot emptier now - I ve had a seat each time I caught one, and nobody sitting next to me. That's not at rush hour, of course. But jno jnr and wife are both working from home now. As soon as English schools close, I expect most people will try to do the same.
Afternoon all
Face touching booger pickers. That was hilarious Robinia.I've laughed myself silly.
Hope you're all ok.
Delivery slots are like gold dust.Managed to get one for Saturday week.Blimey.I'm now really glad I did a bit of forward planning for Brexit and some bulk freezer cooking recently.
They've got an hour for oldies at Iceland here, tomorrow I think.
We won't be attending. It'll be walking sticks at dawn and mobility scooter bashing by the look of some of 'em who roam around here normally let alone in a crisis.

feral pensioners! glad to herar about the aids Jno...I SAY GLAD TO HEAR ABOUT THE AIDS
Evening all....wet and dreary all day but yes shaney, that nurse had me in stitches too. I've watched it about 6 times. "Just touch your face. It's all that's left" :) :)

You'll be able to hear my dawn chorus now jno, it's getting louder by the day. That's the birds btw, not me, I don't start caterwauling until 11am. That's also the time I usually go shopping so I should have the whole store to myself.
I can hear the birdies tweet, I can hear my shoes squeak, the only thing that doesn't seem to be louder and clearer is the human voice. Maybe I've got them on the wrong setting.
Where did you get them from Jno? Might be worth going back .They might just need a minor adjustment.
OR JUST TURN THEM UP
as I frequently tell my brother as I yell down the phone to him:)
Aids? Jno has aids? Yea gods!
Day 4 of lockdown. I went to supermarket. All very we organised having to queue with a trolley distance between us and having to disinfect trolley handle and wear gloves they give you. I was all masked up. From tomorrow oaps get in before the others whenever we arrive! Plenty of food to be had and loo rolls. The one in a car is to stop it spreading. We have to show I.d. and shopping receipts if we are stopped. I passed a road block but they waved me through, lil old woman driving a dirty old car, Miss Daisy?
Mr N is getting twitchy and is getting on with the dolls house. It is so fiddly. I just walk around our land. Me feral cat is not well but not much I can do as she would die if fright if I picked her up. I just check on her and leave food and water. I prefer nights as I can see neighbours lights and know we are not alone. Had a weepy moment worrying about hija being stuck in Barca as airport now closed for normal flights. And no Eastenders soon and no casualty or holby!!!
jno jnr has called twice this evening, once to check we were still alive, once to say he's just had a victim rushed past him by paramexicos coming out of his block of flats. I've tried to asssure him he's likely to be okay, they didn't touch, she had a mask so scarcely had time to breathe on him, and he carefully took the other lift up. He's fit and under 40. But he'll have to keep his distance from Mrs Jnr for a week, which is difficult as they're both now working from home.
We have the twilight clapping every night at 8pm. People go out on their balconies and clap to thank the nurses and doctors and now the police. I need it tonight but are too far away to join in. Think the neighbours here would think id gone loopy if I went out nightly to clap!!
I dont need it. I heard it
