does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

When everything's looking dim and grim what do you do?

....Order a chandelier.
I'm wearing two tiaras at once :)
Go out and clap Neti.I think it's lovely how they all go out on their balconies and sing or play music in Spain and Italy.
On local news tonight a report from Southwold just down the coast from us .All the second home owners are flocking to their properties there and buying up all the stuff in the small local shops. These are the type of people who would have shoved other people out of the way to get off the Titanic. They should stay at home and keep their germs to themselves.Rant over.
Don't forget to take your hearing aids out before bed Jno or you'll hear yourself snore.I hope Jnr hasn't caught anything. I've had Picky bending my ear again today. Then the phone constantly pinging with Whatsappers. They mean well though.
Wish you all a peaceful night .Sleep tight.
Morning each...unbelievably the chandelier was despatched one hour after I ordered it. It's actually a light shade with dangly clear beads, I can count them as I lie awake worrying. I had a moment when I woke up today but I'm calming down now.

Yes shaney, this is definitely bringing out the greed in some people and the generosity in others. I've had lots of contact and offers of help if needed.

Jno does jno jnr actually know the person has this virus? Tarquin face timed me last night, think he needed to see how I looked, he usually texts or calls. Mrs T is still doing home visits to the very ill but she has to be suited up and masked as a two way protection. Unless neighbours know the facts they probably think there's coronavirus in those houses. It's easy to get the wrong end of the stick.

Keep clapping, singing and wearing your bling everyone. We mustn't allow standards to slip.
Robinia, no, just someone else living in a 15-storey block of flats. He says he's never seen her in the gym downstairs or anything, it was just that she was being taken away a few feet away from him. I don't think he's at much risk but I couldn't say there was none at all. It's going to be unfcomfortable for the next week though if London goes into lockdown and they're stuck in a flat on the 11th floor the whole time.

OH has just returned from Sainsbury's early morning service, much impressed by the way managers went along the queue telling the under-70s to go away and come back in an hour. Unfortunately they hadn't taken advantage of their downtime to do much restocking, which perhaps means deliveries are starting to break down. Still no sanitiser but we do now have some flour and other odds and ends.

And some almond milk. Imagine the poor dairymaids having to go out into the stables to milk almonds every morning. At least they won't go kicking the bucket over.

Robi, I bought a chandelier last week! its an old cheapo one (pair actually) which I am going to de electrify and add fairy lights. Yes wear your bling and clap and dance. every day we are all still here is a gift even the rainy ones.
Question Author
can you herd almonds I wonder?
I can herd them now I've got my herding aids. Good news from jno jnr, his neighbour failed the test and is now just someone with a cough, I suppose.
Question Author
that's excellent news Jno.
Yes, great relief all round jno.

Oh we'll have to have a group singing and swinging session then...

....from chandeliers I mean, tut. What did you think I meant? :)
Day 5 here. I am.getting organised. I actually took thr outside shutters off and hosed them down.
Got rid of the pollen which we are also battling.
Gave Mr N a couple of little repair jobs to do which has kept him occupied and I made a chilli con carne. We are getting there!
I'm not getting anything done because I've got texts, fb messages, whatsapps and calls coming at me from all directions.
It's good to talk. :)
phew, done the rounds of Waitrose, Tesco and M&S, so I think we're about set for the first week of lockdown. Tesco food shelves were very empty but Waitrose and M&S (it's a full-scale shop, not just a food hall) still well supplied, but no sanitiser anywhere - which was a shame as I'd forgotten to take any with me. I'm probably doomed.
Afternoon all
That's good news Jno,one less thing to worry about.
Nothing doing here just poodling about doing odd jobs . I found a bottle of proper Dettol in the back of the bathroom cupboard this morning.Whoop!
Yes ,we'll have to have a group singsong.
Altogether now......
Ah ha ha ha.Stayin'Alive....
I'm glad our little island is so organised as we arent running out of anything except hand santizers and masks but Mr N and I esch have a good mask but we dont go out!
Went out to listen to the twilight clapping and coukd hear it like a Mexican wave coming up from the village so I started clapping and then various neighnours did also. It's quite moving actually. It's good that's it's coming up your way now as we are near the Guardia station and asnot die them and all health workers so they can also hear it. Nothing on tv for me tonight so am waiting til 20.30 to dump the rubbish as its not allowed before them.
We have survived Day 5!!
you saw what happened to someone putting out the rubbish too early in Murcia, neti?

did I say Sis arrives sunday? We have been holding tight and watching the news in case they did the one person per car thing (she is coming by taxi) and she has been poised to travel early if needed but had a couple of things she needed to do first if at all possible.
she should be okay in the boot?
Question Author
Lol Jno, I did suggest it
Morning...bright but very cold.
Anyone got a 70's wig kicking around? I'm not going to get my hair done anytime soon apparently.Hope your sis makes it ok woofy.

You find out who your friends are in all of this don't you? Won't expand, it's a small world, you never know who's on this site etc. Hey ho, what goes around....

Hi everyone. Day 6 but we forgetting which day is which! I shall die glamorous if nothing else and my hair colour Lilac came in the post today. Also lots if legal papers for tax purposes so glad out postman is still working. We are pottering to keep us amused. Last night the Guardia civil disinfected and cleaned all teh areas around the hospital. We have 19 ill people on the island. One in icu, two in hospital and 16 at home. Hija says no one is taking any notice in Barca now, all doing their own thing and police not doing anything about it! I enjoyed my 5 min walk to the rubbish last night!
