does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

I am doing the same Robi. I also limit my access to news broadcasts.
The catching it thing.....some people really shouldn't at all if possible....frail or immune compromised of any age. For everybody else yes the majority probably will get it mildly and this should result in the herd immunity thing BUT some of those who are not expected to be at risk will get it badly enough to need specialist care. If they all were to get it at once, then our (and in fact any) health resource would be swamped and that's where the issue arises with ITU beds. In fact beds, and even ventilators are not nearly such supply a problem as carers and that problem gets worse if schools get closed.
yes, I've already isolated myself from TV news, woofgang. In fact I lead a fairly isolated life anyway (both of us being hard of hearing but with plenty to keep us busy) and am not much bothered by the prospect of staying that way.

The main problem has been Sky broadband over the past few weeks, constantly disrupting our internet. That really does make me feel cut off.
I'm fine being at home too as long as I can get out into the garden.

its shocking how quickly the world has got used to t'internet and broadband!
Morning...just checking in. It's a lovely sunny morning, hopefully a good day, make the most of it.

Oh, a warning to anyone hoarding loo rolls in their sheds and garages

hahaha....serves em right.

Sorry, I've got to keep laughing or I'll go mad. :)
Good day. Police now fining people 600€.for being out on the street with no reason! My hospital app has not been cancelled but we are only allowed one in a car so I am going to have to drive myself there as buses are very few and far between now! It annoys me when people take no notice whether they believe it's right or not. They do ot even want the elderly in the supermarkets but we have no choice! Cant suddenly become young. We have to keep 1 metre distance from each other, now that will be difficult!
I'm back in bed as it saves on heating and it is cold.

good morning all. Bright and chilly here. That is the end of the news
Afternoon all
Bright day to start but clouded over now.Mr S has been keeping me busy.He went to Morrisons early and came back with bags of each of carrots, leeks, onions and wonky peppers which I've chopped and sliced and frozen. He said there was plenty of fresh stuff but very
little tinned stuff on the shelves. He brought me some dolly mixtures as well:)
Hope you're all ok .KBO.
Evening all...it's been a lovely day here and I've been in the garden.
Nipped to the shops this morning, grabbed a few things, and beat a hasty retreat. No crazy queues, got what I needed for now, and people seem to be keeping their distance. The roads were definitely quiet for a Monday.
Fell asleep for the last 15 mins of Last Tango so I've got to catch up. I'm behind with The Split too.
got to Tescos to stock up - still no sanitiser or flour (does anyone have flour or are shelves bare everywehre?), but we've bought enough odds and ends to construct a small nuclear device.

Hoping I have persuaded my big sis to come and sit out the lockdown with me. She is healthy as a horse but lives alone like I do and in a much more urban and crowded environment. Middle sis lives near her son and his partner so she would be ok for support.
My hospital app has been cancelled. I've waited 13 months but just as well. If we are caught out on the streets we have to show shopping receipts or just cause! Weve managed 2 days and still friends!!
Question Author
oh that's a pain Neti...not that you are still getting on with Mr N, I meant the appointment
That's disappointing for you Neti.Hopefully you'll get another app soon.
Good plan Woofy, you'll have company and can support each other.
Picky phoned this evening and I told him to stay away but he said if there are any emergencies I must let him know and he'll come over even it's just to drop stuff or whatever on the doorstep.
Then, the cheeky so and so said....You'll have to find a new hobby mother ,why don't you buy a sewing machine.I just told him to zip it or else :)
Here's a pic of the camellias taken this morning. All the years we've been here they have been very sparse but this year they are full of blooms and buds.

Morning mi dears...all ok I hope.
That's beautiful shaney, I've never done very well with camelias but the dwarf rhodo I transfered from a pot into the ground looks ok so far. The Barsley Baby lavatera that my sis bought me is coming into leaf, looking forward to seeing that flower.
We'll have to get knitting baby cardi's and blankets for this expected baby boom, haha. We'll be quids in next spring.

Shaney that's lovely. Happy to say that Sis arrives on sunday. It will be easier for her to go out and stretch her legs here and I am already signed up for online grocery shopping. She's coming by airport taxi service so no crowded coaches and stations.
No Sainsburys delivery here for the forseeable future :( Hopefully they'll get more drivers soon and sort something out.
In the meantime - anyone want a slice of very gooey looking coffee walnut cake, lots of buttercream on and in it? I bought it for the weekend but no none came...now I've got a squillion calories to consume by tomorrow. Oh quel dommage.
I'm sure you'll manage Robinia :)I love coffee cake.
Talking to my other brother this morning ,he said he had enough stuff for now as he used to be a boy scout ,always prepared.I said I hoped he wasn't wandering about waving his woggle at people and yelling dib dib dob.My brothers seem to think I'm cheeky for some reason.
He was telling me he's more computer savvy now as he did a course at the library. Then I mentioned Skype.I have a feeling he'll now pester his daughter to explain it all and set it up for him.
Bright day here so far.
Hello. All this talk about flowers!! Grrr.
I went out today for essential medication. And sent hija some.money to help. Bank man was really annoyed and said donit in the machine so I said I do not know how so he showed me and it didnt work ha! Then he said xome back.mañana 9-11 as they are the opening hours. I then burst into tears and said I cant cope and pointed out it was only 10.30 anyway so we went into the locked back and did the transaction! The thr chemist gave me the wrong meds for Mr N but I didnt know until I had finally trudged home all this tinewearing a mask and I was sweltering. Had to walk back to village and explain. They had given me internal gynea canesteen. And the idiot kept insisting it was the right one. I said internal for my husband? I dont think so! All the other staff laughed at him! Was beggered when I got home.
Tomorrow I have to do some supermarket shopping. Have to go on my own as only one allowed in a car! Not even married couples!! Day 3 nearly over.
