does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

Hello all. Had to trot to village as needed meds
Also went on a mint sauce hunt! Not one in any shop! Had to search for a chemist and then queue! But sorted. Got food for the feral cat who is unfortunately unwell yet again. Not much anyone can do as she wont be touched and is very nervous. Wont eat but all I can do is leave her until she recovers. I put food down and fresh water.
It's a lovely day and I so wish I could have had a coffee when out. But inwards and upwards. Day 24 of lockdown. Mr N is making 2 cakes. Hopefully a coffee and walnut one for me!!
tut, can't you get mint source on prescription there, neti?
Save a slice for me Neti. I love coffee and walnut cake.
I thought about making a cake but have no SR Flour.I have got some plain and two sachets of baking powder but they're out of date and may have lost their oomph so won't risk it.I want a cake not a biscuit.
Another lovely day here.Hope you're all ok.

He also chopped down a tree. We dont have SR flour here and my baking powder is so old and lumpy but works .

Oh and feral flea cat has revived itself and shouting for food on the patio!
I have done the rubbish walk. Staggering down to bins in the street 2 streets away. It's like the wartime. I have to wear a mask, rubber gloves and carry passport. We can do it any night after 20.30 but as tv is dreadful on a Thursday that's when I do it
Love it when it's all recycled and gone!
The cake looks lovely Neti.
Thanks for the tip Woofy but I've just realised I have no eggs until Saturday when, hopefully, Iceland will bring some. There's hardly any baking stuff to be had either. No sultanas, mixed fruit etc.
What are people doing with all the flour? I've got apples and some frozen mixed berries,I could make a crumble instead and eke what flour I have with some oatmeal.I fancy something sweet.
Crikey Neti, that's awful.I'd be petrified out alone at night like that.
Nothing much on the box here either tonight ,so to bed with a rooibus tea and a book.
Night all.Sleep tight.
Mr N had to buy a 5kilo bag of flour as that's all there was. Hence all this cake making!! We are lucky as our supermarket has everything. No idea when it comes in from mainland but certainly keeping us supplied. The only trouble is we cannot go to the English shop as it's too far away and it's not deemed essential. I would love some sausages and English bread and crumpets but hey ho!
Morning all, yet another glorious morning, hope it continues. Loudest most enthusiastic clapping so far last night.
My friend collected a lovely big order from Sainsburys for me yesterday, everything I wanted except for eggs but she found some in Tesco later. Guess what was in the order?...a coffee and walnut cake of course. I had to cut out the middle baker man, I don't have one in residence, and buy already made. Yours look lovely neti.

Late afternoon yesterday I went to get water from the (full) butt only to find every drop was gone. Grrrr... it's cracked at the bottom. It stood on bricks on soil so I didn't notice it was seeping away. I'd save my bath water but owing to a bubble bath shortage I'm using asses milk at the moment.

Hope you're keeping your barnets under control? A friend texted and asked whether I could cut hair. I told him I'd only trained with KC spaniels and Barbie dolls. Anyway here's a suggestion to keep it out of your eyes and relieve boredom at the same time

It's my bro Ronnie's 70th birthday today . He always seems much younger!
It's my nails that are a problem. They are getting too long and it's not easy to cut them due to the gel polish ! I'll be like Miss Haversham by the end of lockdown! ( did she have impossibly long nails? Anyway you know what I mean!)

Mrs Rochester did! Happy birthday to your bro Neti, I always wave to him when he's on the telly. My hair is not a problem, a few years ago I decided to have a final hippy fling and show it long as I can grow it. Sis is a bit fed up as she uses a hairdresser near me and had booked a cut and a perm for this visit but heigh ho. Hope everyone is ok? Its very warm here, the torts are loving it
highlight of the day was the greengroceress delivering a big box of comestibles, including some flowers for Easter we hadn't ordered. It all looked so nice I took it outside and photographed it, though the bag of compost in the background isn't all that alluring.
Evening all
Another lovely day and a very quiet one.
Normally there's a lot of traffic going through here on a Good Friday as Easter is the start of the summer season but it's like a ghost town.
I saved my bit of flour and found a strudel in the bottom of the freezer, left over from Christmas so I cooked that for a sweet treat.
My hair will lose it's shape if it's not cut regularly and my appt would have been next Tuesday so I'll have to put hairgrips in it soon.
I could start a trend.
Nothing exciting to report otherwise. Hope you're all ok .Keep well.
we are poised ready for the delivery of the communal bread order from the bakery (it's being delivered to a neighbour, we then pick ours up from her). The tension is terrific.

Our High St is nearly empty, but then it often is. All the shops being closed is rare, though.
I'm glad we've always supported the local butcher. He's now supporting us.My cup ranneth over yesterday as I devoured a salt beef sandwich.
Our local bakery don't seem to have got their act together though. In spite of being regular customers we can't get any bread from them. It comes from Norwich and they only have a certain amount which I suppose they're selling out quickly to the people who go to the shop leaving nothing for the delivery van.
Another lovely day here.
Shall I send some of Mr Ns bread over shaney?
I have coloured my hair with this platinum colour. Its still wet nonidea what the colour will be. But a I cant go.iut it diesnt matter. I've have hacked off a few lumps. We ate breakfast on the patio today. Not something either of us enjoy but as no neighbours now it's ok. We sat in the shade!
Oh yes please Neti.
I'll have a large thick sliced seeded bloomer, six crusty rolls and an iced bun round filled with cream and jam.......in my dreams!
Shaney error 404 .... does not compute. Even Mr N does not know what bread he is making!!
And I've broken another sunbed! So weighed myself and I've actually lost 4 grams! Am nicely pink from the sun but only on the front as darent turn over on dodgy sunbed!!
