I'm trying to think of something that I can easily do a meat and non-meat version of as I personally don't think its a proper meal if it doesn't have meat in it so don't want to cook an all-veggie meal but don't want to do something totally different for the veggie - any ideas please? Thanks

DT - I hate the taste of salt. It is essential for seasoning...but I can't put it on my food. I cook with it and that's about it. It's never even put out on our dinner table. To me it's a kitchen condiment and should never leave the kitchen...
Stuffed vegetables are lovely!.......you can stuff Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Peppers etc, with either a meaty filling or a veg one, they are so tasty!......if you google, you'll get lots of recipes, and they are easy, and can be prepared in advance!........
Do you like it streaky .. or salty Karen?

: )
Hey Welsh! xx : )
Ummmm, (jokingly), Yahweh should have made you an honorary Jewess, or Allah a Muslim!

I think it holds for virtually everything that of you get things really natural and fresh, they always taste better. I think of all I have been privileged to try in my life, I put fresh grapefruit off the tree up there - so different to anything you buy out of a f and v shop, a costermongers or supermarket......and brilliant with gin or a vodka!

Next to that, asparagus and jersey royals straight off the field and I have a weakness for fresh raspberries (with a homemade meringue and Cornish double cream). On that score, one of the remarkable ones is to taste Callestick ice cream in the shops and then the farm - that is about a mile as the crow flies from here and is something totally different in taste. Having said that, even Ben & Jerry's ice cream in Watersbury, Vermont, tastes very different at source.
Hmmm, I'm quite a fan of the salty stuff Al :)
I don't mind a roast of pork :-)

I don't like cream...it makes me feel sick...

Why did you pick those two subjects DT???
which two subjects? there were plenty.....you are far fussier than I am!!!
food that is!

God I'm so hungry now after all of these suggestions and debates... might have to pick a suggestion out of a hat! Thanks :)
But please do not mention the dreaded word "Bananas"
Cheese on toast and a couple of pickles then : )

Karens up for some of my salty bacon.
Yum yum! ;)
Pork and cream...haha

I didn't think I was fussy...but I am. I don't put it down to fussiness...I put it down to tastebuds. My tongue just doesn't like certain tastes.

Got some oysters in...I like those :-))
No Ummmm .. I'm a stayer : ) lol

Well showing my class now... I've just opened a can of dry blackthorn!
Salmon and Oysters we agree on. I love mussels and any shrimp, lobsters, crabs etc

I am averse to cockles, winkles, having barfed on bad ones...... On clams; well, I won a radio competition quiz in the States - some bizarre historical trivia question that I phoned in. The prize was a restaurant meal on Long Island and I ate bake clams that came back to haunt me......been wary of those, but I do like a really good clam chowder.
Try Quorn, as a curry - one thing all my lot will eat together (one's vegetarian). Cauliflower in batter with a sweet and sour sauce - you could use meat in the batter for the others.
I grew up on Long Island....baked clams--mmmmmmmmm!
