I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

Martin says an M&S sale starts online at 8pm today and tomorrow in the shops.

I know jno, they emailed me....I am trying not to think about it.
They emailed me too...it says 'selected items'...in other words, not many things that Robi will like.
well, that's outrageous. I haven't had an email. Well, I got one from Martin but not from M&S.

grump.
Maybe you don't buy enough big pants in there jno...I bet they're starting the sale tonight 'cos it's footie on the tele.

For the midnight prowlers amongst us, can I draw your attention to this....

I'm certainly not a bulk buyer like some people I could mention . But are a few pixels too much to ask?

Actually, I am avoiding my emails at the moment as there will be communications from at least two people I am trying to avoid.
tag em as junk jno, they go straight in the bin and you never have to look.
well the beauty of email is they don't know you're ignoring them...unless they've done that thing where you're notified after it's been opened.
Fortunately I just ignored a call on my mobi...the incoming calls I get on it are very rare and only from my very close family...I googled the number and it was a loan company.
Hoping for a quiet night tonight. Thick fog is forecast for tomorrow so I will be listening out for the horns.
oh, I'll have to read them and answer them. I'm just putting it off.

The cold snap seems to have been put off for a couple of weeks, by the look of it, so that's nice. It's actually been rather pleasant and sunny today. I have spent the evening doing most of my Christmas shopping (compile one calendar, order lots of copies).
Oight oight. Mr LL has been working for two days solidly in this room so I have been denied computer time, except when he took the dog for a walk. Tuesday and Wednesdays are his official working days now, so obviously I will have to sort out other things to do!! Like housework - then again, perhaps not.

Anyway, shall see you all tomorrow hopefully. Have just booked a Rhine/Moselle cruise for next June. Only a week. Ship only holds 94 people so should be nice and relaxed.

Have also just ordered an Air filter for our bedroom because I sneeze and snuffle all night and wake up feeling groggy and stuffed up. That'll teach him for not letting me on the computer all day. When I did get on there I spent lots of money!!!!! ;o)

Been to see the Hairy Bikers this evening .All I can say is please stick to the television chaps because it was awful !They really don't transfer from TV to the stage very well at all .It was like a third rate pantomime .I'm really disappointed .

Oh lovely Lofty .You'll love that .
We did a Rhine / Moselle cruise many years ago with the in laws .It was wonderful .
That explains why I can't get hold of Mr and Mrs LL junior Shaney. I think they went there this evening. What a shame it wasn't any good. We considered going but in the end decided not to as we are going to Nottingham on 26th to see Elbow and two shows in one month is a bit much for us.

Yes, I am very much looking forward to that holiday. Flying to Cologne from Stansted isn't to traumatic and the boat trip should be nice and peaceful with just old timers on board and lots to eat and drink. Just right.

Oight, oight again.
Nobody in. Calling back later.
Morning
I'm in...just...it's thick with fog here.
we did the Rhine/Moselle thing a couple of years ago - started with Nuremberg (which is on the Main canal, I think), via Frankfurt, right turn up the Rhine valley, left turn at Koblenz and up to Trier. Verrry nice. Lots of pretty half-timbered towns dating all the way back to 1946 but beautifully restored.

Have a lovely time (when it gets here) Lottie. Ah, the moonlight on the asparagus fields...
Foggy here too Robi. It was very sunny when Mr LL went out with the dog, but the mists have swirled down and he is out there in the wilds of North Norfolk. Hope he took his compass ;o)

Ours is only a short cruise - 6 days - jno. Starts North of Cologne onwards to Koblenz and then off down the Moselle. and then back again - taking in about 5 or 6 stops.
nice... but will you be getting the part of the Rhine Valley with the castles?
Question Author
Morning all
Bright and sunny here after the fog lifted .Hope all are well.
There are some castles along that stretch Jno but the majority are from Koblenz onward down to Bingen ,Rüdesheim and so on .
Turning off down the Moselle at Koblenz means missing the best bits unless they do what ours did which was to go a little way into the Moselle and then turn back steering round the Deutsches Eck ,which is quite a feat for whoever is steering these boats ,and then down the Rhine again towards Rüdesheim.
It's all very lovely though .No use going on a Rhine cruise if you don't get to see the Lorelei .
