I have bought a rather nice writing slope on ebay, however the lock doesn't work at all. Its quite easy to remove though and in fact I suspect that its not the original one anyway. I've hunted around but the only supplier of replacements I could find is in america and the p and p is huge.

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of writing slope (wooden box) locks please? Either new or old but they must work and come with a key.

Morning...lousy night, ibs.

So sad that David Bowie has died. I almost mentioned him a few days ago, he had the same birthday as shaney. My mum, who'd have been 95 this month, loved him.
Morning all. Firstly RIP David Bowie. Very sad.

Shaney so sorry I missed your birthday hope your day was a good one under the circumstances. Perhaps a specialist could help with your leg. And you Neti with your arm maybe some sort of treatment.
My wrist I broke is now playing up so maybe it's time to have the plates removed. Does it really help Woofy do you know or is it a hit or miss op? It's getting really painful at times.
Had a good if quiet weekend except for going to see The Star Wars film. Not my thing but it wasn't too bad. Fast moving and loud so I wasn't able to 'fall asleep' like TRS did during Lady in The Van.
Robi hope you get some sleep after your bad night. IBS must be awful.
I think it's time to get up now for my cuppa tea and walk to the paper shop. Have a good day all. See ya later!
Morning ; I cant believe David Bowie has died. Loved his music. Such a part of our lives.
Morning all
Cold and wet out there. Thanks Jude ,yes,I had a nice day.
Sad news about David Bowie.RIP Starman.
Take it easy Robinia .
Off to the surgery shortly.I'll report back later.

Hi Jude, pleased you survived the Star Wars :) I did like the first one and the boys had lots of the figures and a couple of vehicle thingies. I remain slightly phobic of Darth Vader though.

Yes, it'll be a lolling, soup and toast day I think. I'm sooo full of trapped wind....you have been warned.

Good luck shaney.
I enjoyed Endeavour last night btw, I understood it this week.

Good morning all. So sorry to hear about Bowie, didn’t release a new LP recently?
Jude, what they usually do is x ray, although sometimes its easy for a specialist to feel the plates and what is going on. Sorry for this silly answer, but if its the plates causing the pain then removing them usually stops it, but its not then its won’t...it often is the plates though.
Good luck at the surgery Shaney.
Neti, I saw your bro on the antiques roadshow talking about the canopic jar. I didn’t know he collected scarabs, only seen him talk about furniture before.
Another poo night here. Squally all night, we finally settled at 5 am. Back to nap soon I think, the dogs have already flaked out again.
Fireworks for sailing ships yet again tonight so we have to go driving again.
Here I am again .Sloshed there and back in the rain .Standing room only in there this morning .Have now got two lots of antibiotics to take ,more flucolox and some other ones with a big long name pheno something or other,a type of penicillin .I'll be rattling by the end of that lot .Had it redressed and back again on Thursday.
Yes, I enjoyed Endeavour last night.

Thanks Woofy. Think I will ask to be referred and see what Carlos the specialist says.
Love that Bowie song Shaney hope you can dance to it soon. After you've taken all those pills.
Listening to Radio 2 and they've been playing lots of his songs today. Lots of anecdotes too by different people.
Yes i saw him too. I didn't know that either, last time it was handbags which would have been my influence back in the day!!
What on earth is going on at my health centre? A few months ago you could get an immediate appointment with your own doctor, now I have to wait 9 days to see a substitute! My arm is getting worse can't really drive now. I am tempted to go to Urgencies but is it really urgent? and they'll only send me to ibiza for xray as said previously 4 buses and 2 runs is not on my agenda atm!
The Prettiest Star - this reminds me of the one and only dog we had called Trampers, he was dying and I kept playing this and crying, still makes me cry now!

It's just the same here Neti.I have to wait weeks to see my own GP but can sometimes see somebody else on the same day if I phone up at silly o'clock on the day.
This means that you have to get up at the crack of dawn and get ready and even then you can find all the appts gone. It never used to be like that at our surgery .I'm hoping the merger with another surgery that's planned will improve things because there's no continuity of care there atm.
That arm sounds painful though and I would go to the urgencias if I were you.Don't leave it any longer ,go and get it looked at.
Night all.
well... I do believe it's bedtime (though not necessarily sleep time...) so oight oight all
Good morning bright biddies. I have absolutely no appointments or people to meet for coffee, it's quite liberating!
I may pass by the health centre and see if they have any spare apps laying around.
Hope you all passed a good peaceful night, have to say i sleep very well apart from the couple of times I have to get up to let the cat out and then in again
Morning all...miz start but hopefully it'll dry up and allow me enough time to shop. My Lurpak supplies have reached the alert level. And they've threatened us with snow for Thurs.

Hope you tolerate the anti-bios shaney, get some probiotics to help counteract the tum problems.

Same for me re my own GP, we can usually see someone that day though. A few times I've squeezed in after asking them to contact me if there are any cancellations I could fill...I can be at the dr's or dentist within 15/20 mins.
Yes I'm only a 3 min walk to my surgery. No idea what this hold up is. My Mexico has been on unpaid leave since forever so he's either killed someone or had a breakdown. At least one of the substitutes sent me to the nose doctor and hopefully that's being sorted.
I'm only in a blouse and gillet and boots and it is 14° and really nippy. Silly me.
.......and this medical card which holds all our med for a year so we only have to scan it at any chemist and they know what we need, has to be renewed every 3months as it's a substitute doctor. What is happening to the world we are going backwards.
they probably put it through the scanner and it says "this woman needs a good talking-to".

morning all. Our surgery has online appointment booking as well as callbacks. Tis very useful. I am going to the hygienist today and leaving the dogs here as its too cold for them to sit in the car.....I really hope they behave as I don’t leave them often. We went out last night to miss the last lot of fireworks, and then it was a quiet weather night so we all flaked out early it was lovely.
