♫♪ oh no it's raining again ♫♪ ...love that song Jude. Have you trekked to bed yet, you madwoman:)

Evening friends, I haven't even started cleaning yet. My friend who's coming on Sunday swears by the LCHF diet http://www.thelocal.se/22278/20090924/ so I've been out shopping for cheese and cream... It does make me nervous when she more or less drinks cream... particularly as the diet is designed for meat-eaters and you can't just transfer it to veggie eating, it doesn't work out that way. And she has recently been diagnosed with heart problems, although if I'm honest she did experience those problems before she started with LCHF.

But anyhoo, personally I believe that cream and cheese and butter aren't at all the villains they have long been portrayed to be BUT nor do I think you should (more or less) DRINK cream...! But what can I do, she's gonna subscribe to whatever she's gonna subscribe to, regardless of my fears. So I've carried the cream home=:0

I've stopped laughing at you now jno. Sorry but it really was too funny, you have to admit:) Lol at 'assterisked'. Weird about the link (you did try the second one?) as I'm sure that biddies have been allowed to view SVTPlay on previous occasions but they must have restricted it recently, then. Too bad:(
Hi Kit just about time to go and watch New Tricks but my eyes are almost closed. :~) I think if you just stick to a low fat low sugar diet you can't go far wrong. It does mean though that you have to cut out biscuits and cake. But you can have the odd pudding now and again. For my pudding today I had a banana and an eating apple done in my gadget and it comes out like an instant whip and then I have a tablespoon of creme fraiche on top.0.8g sugar and low fat...
Just had 2 rice cakes with flora on Not very xciting but keeps me from diving into anything more fattening.
Gottago now see yer later 'gater(s) Good Night May your God Bless You

That diet is a variation on Atkins I think Kit. His original theory was that sugar, not fat is the enemy and that the way to lose weight is to cut out quite a lot of carbohydrate and introduce protein instead. he said not to worry about fat, not to over increase the intake of it. I have tried it and it works to a point BUT its a tightly controlled diet and as such boring, you have to do a starter period of really tightly controlled eating to change your body metabolism, its a diet for life and its can be rough on the kidneys.
You have to go almost completely sugar free and that includes most fruit as well as the usual sugar treats.

beloved darling pup (NOT) has rolled in what smells like rotten dead thing and the stink is appalling. Can't bath him as its dark, have used up all my dog wipes :-(
Good morning (it ain't)...I'm sick to death with this climate. In fact I thought I was very near to death yesterday, the nagging headache turned into the great grandmother of migraines...hell's bells how can you hurt that much & NOT die? Like you woofy I think the weather's a lot to do with it, I've tried all kinds of diet restrictions & none make any difference to headaches but I do have an idea what makes my insides gripe. Charlie's looking achey today too...

Is anyone missing a royal blue bath mat? 'Cos there was a very soggy, smelly, chewed one at the bottom of the garden this morning, brought by a fox no doubt. How the heck they dragged it here I've no idea, there are no big gaps anywhere and it weighed a ton with it being soaked.

I think today is going to be a slow recovery day...
Poor robi, hope you are feeling better today. and everyone else inc. smelly pups!!

Daughter finally arrived at 6am one of her flights being delayed from Brum for 2 hrs. I waited for her but she didn't need me to collect her as the bus driver dropped her off nearby!

Oh bless jno, that was exactly the look this morning...was at my wits end trying to get the smell off and not wake up DH. I ended up blobbing vanilla paste on a damp cloth and wiping that over him once I had got the actual removable muck off. I have to be careful what i use as he has skin allergies. We got up again at 9.45 (back to bed at 7 after getting stinkpot clean) and he's been out for a wee and gone back to sleep...being clean is exhausting.
Robi, so sorry to hear you are unwell. I know you will take it easy.
Have you got badgers? they are immensely strong and will collect stuff for brood nests.
Moring Neti...are you asleep again?
Asleep woofy???? how very dare hyou....

Just been to check if my bathroom carpet (yet bathroom carpet) is missing. Seeing as I am the only one to use our upstairs little bathroom I allow myself the luxury of a carpet knowing it will remain hygienic and non-smelly. Mr LL only ever goes in there on the very odd occasion when the plumbing needs seeing to or to decorate!! He has a 20 gallon capacity bladder and never needs to use the facilities at night.

Well, I have been up for an hour, made some sandwiches and am wondering whether to go back to bed. Just don't feel right these days :o(

Will just have a quick look through AB.

See you tomorrow. Hope you feel better tomorrow too Robi X
Afternoon biddies and boy - glad you made it:) Isn't it too early for the flu?? Nah I guess it's never too soon for the man flu;-) ♪♫ man flu, man flu, you can call it man flu ♪♫ ...he he... "man flu" reminded me of this song, you see. Every woman over seventeen loves to hate it and yet it's been around since the ESC (cover your ears possums, it's horribly annoying) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rvYSXe0Rag

Yes Woofy the LCHF has a lot in common with Atkins but there are considerable differences as well, although I couldn't say what they are as I have forgotten. I did read a book about LCHF when this friend started missionizing but I saw no way of following it as a veggie - it just isn't designed that way - whereas this friend - who is also a veggie - happily started "drinking cream", as I see it. And she did lose 8 kilos/17-18 pounds during the first six months or so, but after that nothing at all for almost a year but she still keeps it up - and I am a bit worried cos I believe she's misinterpreting the diet:( But we've known each other for thirty years and she's always done her own thing - for one thing she had five children even though the doctors told her to quit after two. / LOL at the vanilla paste, Woofy!

IKEA and cats, yes of course, why hasn't anybody ever thought of that before, it's so obvious http://i53.tinypic.com/2gshij4.jpg

Know what you mean about the headaches and migraines, Robi... I sometimes walk around screaming, no way I could keep it in. The nausea is as bad as the pain innit. Sis says thanks for the 'Fozzie' suggestion which she did like a lot but they seem to be back to 'Yoshi' now cos B-I-L has suddenly taken to it, after
Hm, cut off without a warning!

Aren't foxes ingenious! Apparently, elks are, too... http://www.thelocal.se/28896/20100909/
