wet and windy here too, and for a change I mean the weather and not me. I slept right through the night - but how did I do it? How can I repeat it?
Question Author
Morning each...windy and grey, and so is the weather......gardener finished off the hedges yesterday so, apart from mowing, that's hopefully it...well, until they need doing again. If accu is accurate that'll be sooner rather than later, lots of showery days forecast for the next few weeks, including today. :(

woofy I remember what it was like trying to keep hairy little Charlie away from paintwork. I made all sorts of barriers, chairs, clothes airers with old sheets over them, lifesize stuffed lions etc and he still managed to brush along it and turn it into flock.

lol jno, almost a 'snap' comment there...I slept reasonably well too and I had a nice dream about Paul Nicholls.
Morning all
Windy but not wet here as yet ,bit muggy really .We had a bit of rain last night though.
Hope you're all OK .I've got Picky here staying for some nights for some weeks to come as he's working locally so I'm in a muddle .
Mothers meeting at my brothers this afternoon though for a birthday .
Hope you're feeling better now Jno and hope things are ok with the tum Jude ,pip pip for now.
still lounging and not doing much...

me neither woofy, just no get up and go today. I think I want to be one of those old ladies in rain hats and pacamacs who sit in shelters on the sea front and watch the world go by. :)
It's a bit muggy here but too much breeze to be outside.
Mornng all folks, been to the big city and bought a new mini oven, it's the one I wanted with hidden elements so cleanable! Have just cleaned kitch counter where it isto reside on top of the microwave and begger me it slides right off, it is very light I must say, have to set it on a tray or something! Just lighted it to burn off whatever and it stinks, I think it is burning!! Hot hot hot, and pool will be finished tomorrow and filled hopefully tomorrow night.

Glad you slept well jno, riesling is very good! I sleep well untill Mr N's knee hurts and he gets up, the the cat gets disturbed and is in and out and then hija stumbls home at some unearthly hour, and then when I have atend to the cat, my toes do not work so have to hobble on my heels, very painful.

Woofy a spanish señora told me she also has the gout thanks to her BP medicine, now is this true, cos I just cannot abide this pain in the feet much longer.
what med are you on Neti?
hit enter too soon. Has your problem been diagnosed as gout? Is there any heat and swelling of the joints?
Hi woofy, well I've had to look it up as I do not have the box anymore. It is Coaprovel which is irbesartan and hidroclorotiazida (of course this is all in spanish) Says it is a diuretic (tiazidico) so no idea. But when I queried about a year ago that I was getting bad cramops in my toes usually the 2nd one in, he just said it was my medicine. But when I kicked the door and hurt my 2nd toe he said it had caused gout, and 2nd toe on right foot has it's moment of pain, but now also do my left toes.
cramops obviously are cramps in old woman speak!
Well banging a toe doesn't cause gout. Diuretics can if the dose is high because it concentrates the uric acid in the body which causes crystals to be deposited in joints but its usually only one or two joints and causes heat and redness as well as pain. Also the pain of gout is extreme...the sort of pain that brings tears to your eyes and is agony if the joint is so much as brushed by bedclothes.

and gout and cramp aren't linked.

Too much of the high life causes gout :) well that's what they used to say.
We've had a thunderstorm here, probably what's making me feel off.
To much fortified wine and port causes gout!! It also causes red swollen noses. Well that's what my Mum used to tell me. He, he. Wear supportive shoes Neti, No more heels or wedges or fashionable boots.

The only shoes I find comfortable these days are my walking boots - not a good look when you go out anywhere posh!!

when the toe is hurting yes even a sheet can send me in agony, but it doesn't hurt all the time, and I do not have a red bulbous nose.
I've had gout and although I need a stick to walk with, I didn't have any trouble with bedclothes etc, so I think there are different degrees of severity.

I think they've decided port isn't really a problem, but there are foods to avoid.

However it's good to know that if you don't want to go to all the palaver of scoffing cows in order to get gouty, you can do it just by taking a pill...
Evening each. I put my washing out this morning went to town and it rained on and off all morning. When I got home my washing was dry and just after I took it in there was a thunder storm. Phew!! Just in time.

Thanks for keeping fingers crossed(and legs Jno) My tum feels a bit better today. So things are looking up I think it's touch wood time now!!.
Lovely sunny evening but very breezy and still not Summer is it?

Hope, Jno and Robi, you repeat your good night's sleep tonight.
Laters 'gaters
Oh that's good jno, I won't be eating much in moderation as that is mostly my food. Doesn't say white crusty bread, clover and syrup anywhere does it, yumm, I will live on it.
hello all, one more day and nice painterman will be finished indoors. He is very nice and I am glad to have him but keeping the dogs confined is hard work. The hall did need doing though, it was filthy.
I'm off to my bed now. Oight Oight everyone. Sleep tight x
