I spent a couple of hours last night with tears crawling down my face. Tears of sadness, and tears of laughter. I've just read that Ricky Gervais has said, writing and directing the series, whilst immensely satisfying, is also daunting. He should try watching it! I only made it through the first four brilliant episodes before the emotional roller-coaster became too much. I'll most likely complete the series tonight.
Anyone else tuned in, yet?
Have you watched 'Derek' Naomi? I only ask because you say you used to not like Ricky Gervais and 'After Life' has changed your perception of him. Derek is very funny and sometimes just as poignant as AL. If you haven't watched it, give it a go:-)
Anybody know where we can see Derek please?
I think I've seen it but just in case.
I loved The Office, in fact I've always liked him. Made my day when he shot all the luvvies down at the awards ceremony.
I finished watching it last night, LB. I hope they make more.
Ken/Rocky, I watched the first of 'Derek' too last night. I'm sure where it's going but I'll carry on. The woman care worker is the actress who played his wife in After Life isn't she?
Persevere with Derek, it gets better and better. Don't want to give anything away, but watch for the episode with his Dad. For me at the time, it was the best thing on the box.
Ken/Rocky/Margie, I watched the second episode of Derek tonight. Oh my! I'm almost out with my banner protesting! I'm liking Ricky Gervais more and more. Great writing. Good stuff!
Not one to gloat but I’ve been espousing the merits of Mr Gervais for some time.
He’s the cleverest and most intelligent man in comedy, nobody can hold a candle to him and I’m glad that some here are now discovering his genius for themselves.
