Sunny blast has developed into same old .
If it wasn't for Britains Secret Treasures at 8.00 pm I'd clear off to bed it's so dismal.
I suppose I could watch Midnight Run for the umpteenth time ....
or Brideshead ....or ...Law and Order ...haha

when we went to the Do last night it was held in an office block's meeting room but it had an open area outside, and they served really good BBQ food and lots of Pimms and obscure cocktails and ice cream, so we were actually able to sit outside in the warm and eat and drink. Very nice. First meal we've had outside all year as far as I can remember. John Carter was telling us about the Cotswold Games. Apparently one of the events is shin-kicking.
I tried watching that British Buried Treasure thing with Michael Buerk and Bettany Hughes this evening but it seemed rather dumbed down and not very informative. But I might try Vermeer later on on BBC4 (?).

I watched it this evening and I was nearly nodding off .Nothing very exciting .
I circled the Vermeer thing but will watch later if it's on catch up hopefully .The film with Colin Firth ,Girl with a Pearl Earring was lovely and so is the painting which I saw many years ago in the Mauritshuis in the Hague .

the Vermeer was interesting - I had no idea so much was known about him - but it was nearly 10 years old and apparently made partly as a tie-in with the film, because there were some scenes of it being shot. Also, the film's being screened now, so that may be why they're repeating the documentary.
Very enjoyable. Better than blathering on about coalition governments because you've found a two-headed coin and saying nothing whatever about either of the people on it. Waste of time, that was.

Morning blossoms! rushing around like mad organising family and cars s I oculd rush off to zumba, only to find I was the only one there along with the instructor, so we decided one on one wasn't going to be any good for me, so I let her go, and am now at a loose end, so will go for a coffee!!!

Morning all, cold and dull here.
I spent last night looking at the magazines. There were vintage ads in one of them, one being from1917 for a Komo Mop. It said 'Make your wife happy...by buying her a Komo handy Mop for sweeping, Dusting & Polishing'.....hahahaha, I can imagine that now, A&E full of men with a mop stuck up their arris.
Hope you ladies have got some protection for your weekend's celebrations
