I'm a Swede living in Sweden but we do get to see a lot of your British drama series and shows, Parkinson being one of the popular ones over here as well. I was just wondering, how is he and has he been up to anything interesting after the final Parkinson show?

Hi all, yeah oops I did it again. It's my back, it has no curvature so when I loose my footing it's almost impossible for me to find it again, and also, due to my herniated discs or whatever it seems impossible for me to build core muscle strength. I see other people slipping all the time but they catch their balance again.

Anyway, another backwards like a log and a ton of bricks fall on the icy street (my own street - I didn't make it very far did I) and the back of my head took the blow. Some lovely people rushed to the scene, one of them a handsome youngish and very kind doctor - it was just like in a movie except I didn't look the heroine part. He told me I had a big hematoma at the back of my head and it was decided for me (and I agreed) I should go to the ER. I could hear the sound of an ambulance in the distant and gradually realised it was for me. Long story short, superficial hematoma the size of half a grapefruit (not as "deep" though) but I passed the neurology tests so they didn't do an X-ray and I was let home after 6 hours. First time I sat down at the computer, not only could I not remember my passwords but they didn't even seem familiar when I saw them in my notebook, and one email I wrote I didn't recognise (cont.)

(cont.) the wording of when rereading it a couple of hours later. There's a tone in one ear that wasn't there before but it isn't very loud and it isn't there all the time, headache's almost gone but lower back and hips took a blow too and muscles hurt I didn't know I had. To sum it up, probably a minor concussion (I always mix 'concussion' and 'circumcision' up, I know what they are and which is which but I mix the words up, you'll have to insert the most likely word for yourselves ha ha, can't be bothered with dictionaries right now).

Thanks Robi for passing my message on, I really didn't feel up to logging onto AB as navigating was and is a strain on the ole brain. I'm trying to minimise that brain stress so I haven't caught up with the thread yet but I saw jno's tennis racquet suggestion and I'm loving it:) Will catch up by and by.
Oh Kit, I do sympathise, I am a perfect fool on slippery surfaces, I know how easy it is to go down. They used to judge the severity of the concussion by how much of the events leading up to the injury you could remember. You seem to have it all down pat so the after effects should clear. Shock can have the effects that you describe, just take it easy for a few days.
Cold and pleasant here. Pup with bad ears is obviously feeling amazingly better even though ears still not completely right. He has reverted to puppy behaviour, romps with his brother, hold my hand in his mouth (very gently), has reverted to the huge bum dance puppy tail wag from his more sedate version and is generally the picture of a happy dog. His bro is delighted to have his silly playmate back, as are we. Did I mention he is on special food for dogs with allergies? Poor soul must have been not right for some time as his digestion as well as his ears have improved. Its a bit worrying and guilt making that what we interpreted as normal dog growing up behaviour seems to have been related to not feeling well...
poor Kit, I do sympathise, I've spent some time this winter slithering around with my arms flailing like a helicopter while everyone else calmly trudges forward as if nothing was wrong. My back's fine but I seem to have weakish ankles.
Oh dear KIt you sound as if you have been in the wars bigtime .I do hope you soon feel better .Don't you Sveedies have proper boots to deal with all this ice and snow ? I know when we were in Norway we kitted ( pardon the pun ) ourselves out with proper footwear .In fact Mr.S still has his snow boots which he bought there and was glad of them this winter .They grip on icy surfaces .
Take it easy and I wish you a speedy recovery xx
Try stilettos next time .They seem to work for Neti :)
ha ha jno, I neeed those, bet they don't do adult sizes though
Glad you are feeling slightly better Kit.

Ice and snow are the only times I can wear stilettos, on dry pavements I do a "Kit"!

I'm just checking if I have to sign in again before I can submit a post.
That was strange never happened before. Anybody any ideas?
what never happened before - you stuffing your face?

I think it's so unfair that people who don't eat don't get fat.
Most peculiar. Jno I pressed Submit Answer and it said you must sign in before you question is added
that happens if you've signed out or perhaps cleared your cache out (which is not quite the same as clearing your cash out; I do the latter more often).
Thanks Jno I had just clear the cache. That solved that one then.

Good morning all. sunny today I'm off to walk to my sisters for my Saturday morning cuppa. See yer in a bit....
oh yay I love ashes to ashes!!
Morning all - how does one clear their cache?

Yes shaney I love red cabbage and Mr N adores pickled herrings, but he only has them for a treat at Xmas cos ridiculously expensive over here.

jude most of the time that happens to me, although never on laptop, I get really annpoyed having to sign-in all the time, but recently it's (fingers crossed) been ok. At least now your post stays until you've signed in, last year ione had to rewrite the damned thing!

Really cold and damp here!
*annpoyed* spanish version of annoyed :-(
Warning to my FB pals - there is a virus sent from any friend asking you to click on Youtube, so don't as it will clear all your stuff and infect your machine!
