I saw a speed camera flash as I went through a 40mph zone, I looked at my speedo and I was doing just under 40mph.

Why did it flash ?

A'm I likely to get a ticket ?

What area did you come from when you got flashed? can you prove the time you left up to the time you were flashed? witness statements / receipts as evidence.
Had this happen to me - just had to sweat it out - nothing transpired. Could it have been flashing someone else ?
It has happened to me in the past also nothing transpired with me either.
They are turning all of those type of speed camera's of at the end of the month in the West Mids at the end of this month, they say it's because they are to expensive using wet film !.

I got the double flash from the camera that was facing me, on the right hand side of the road.
May be it was meant for someone passing in the opposite direction, I checked in the mirror but they seemed to be a long way off.
I guess I'll just have to wait for a couple of weeks and hope for the best.
maybe it was a 30 road

No, definitely a 40 limit, I'm up and down it every day.

I'm sure I've heard that the cameras film both sides of the road. Is that true ?
I got the double flash from the camera that was facing me, on the right hand side of the road.

Wasn't you then Chipchopper, it was the car in the opersite lane to you.

Thank's Tony!

If that other car was doing 40+, I guess it would be a long way off, in the 2 seconds it took for me to check in my right side mirror.

I feel a bit easier now.
