I have voted in every General Election for the past sixty years and not once has my vote counted because of our first past the post system. Until we get proportional representation it seems I shall miss out - unless I move house ...... or party!

We didn't rush into it! There were months and months of information given... people are just not that stupid, TD.
It has been done and promised. Nobody would ever trust democracy again (even leavers) if it was ignored now.
Of course politicians lie, from every side. We all know that, but are still capable of making up our own minds.

Dannk13 no, what I am saying is, we were all lied to, ill informed and ill judged. We should have a say now that we are educated.

A vote from a position of ignorance is exactly that.

" Nobody would ever trust democracy again (even leavers) if it was ignored now."

I trust democracy because democracy is democracy. What I don't trust and what you shouldn't trust either is a tory government. Evidently....
As I said, TD, the Brexit Party was not an option for me, although I wouldn't have chosen them anyway. Was wondering about Zac's answer x
TD, what you actually said that because a number of people had died etc, we should have another referendum.

I also said something at 13:36 Thu 12th Dec 2019. But yes, I honestly believe that due to the social shift, we should now have another vote.

//I trust democracy because democracy is democracy//
Yet you would vote for Sinn Fein
No, we weren't ill-informed. The only reason the referendum was held in the first place, was because so many wanted to leave. And Cameron, wrongly, believed a referendum would prove otherwise.
Democracy is not democracy... when it is ignored.
TD // we should now have another vote//
And if you don't like the result, what then?
'The government was full of Remainers. Which party, zacs, do you think will achieve Brexit, best and fastest?'

Non of the one who have a chance of power. Remember, not all people will be voting for parties who want to deliver Brexit. Well, not in it's current form anyway (if anyone actually knows what that current form is, I'd be surprised!).
What "social shift"? Are you suggesting that the older people dying aren't being replaced by other older people? And that the younger people who voted, haven't now got older or changed their minds?
You seem to think a lot of the Leave vote has died... with no thought that every other person is aging too...
That didn't really help, zacs :-) but thanks x
In fact, TD, the longer this goes on... the higher the proportion of elderly people will be...
Just got back from my epic 150yd round trip to vote. Considering it was 1340hrs they reckoned ,so far, a very high turn out.Hope that is the national trend but to be fair our weather is light drizzle at the moment. Other Wards may fare worse. It would appear the electorate mean business on this ,one way or the others. :-)
Yes, as I said earlier, retro... the queue here was literally out of the building. I think people are fed up with being ignored.

"And if you don't like the result, what then?"

Then tough cookies, we're now more informed and in a position to say Leave or Remain.
Question Author
"You seem to think a lot of the Leave vote has died"

The opposite, a lot of people who couldn't vote but now can will vote remain.
Question Author
I don't mind a queue, a good chance to talk to my locals, see their opinions, and call them stupid for those opinions.
TT //A lot of people who couldn't vote but now can will vote remain.//
And a lot will vote leave.
Given how long you had been on here I assumed you completed a postal vote
