France's burka ban

Well done the French for having the guts to introduce the 'burka ban', but it seems with a little trepidation.
/// Earlier, French police said they will be enforcing the country’s new burka ban "extremely cautiously" because of fears of provoking violence. ///
Belgium introduced a full ban last year, and a ban also looks likely in Holland, Spain and Switzerland.
Could Britain ever have the guts to do likewise?

I object to the fact that they can carry on as though they have a right to criticise us, making demands and censuring our way of life. Their menfolk it seems are unwilling or unable to control themselves with any women and they keep their wives subservient. They have chosen to come here and live in a modern society, not some medieval sandpit, that said, their customs are strange to us and there isn't a hope in hell of integration, nor do I think they want to. Britain should do as we think fit for the good of our country, if it means banning face coverings so be it.
seems to happen all over the worl and has been for a while

"are you going to give us the stats on how many people wear them and don't do wrong and are genuinely women who wear them as a mark of their faith?"
paul - no i'm not, and i don't think it has to do with their faith either.
i was replying to
"Men don`t wear burkas! Maybe I`ve had a sheltered life but I`ve never seen a man in one! "
"Who are they hiding their ID from? "
"Nobody wears them to hide their ID. Why would they? "
3 yes but there are 100's more

Do not have enough time to read whatever others said. I am personally not in favour of Burkah or anything that covers one’s face but I respect it as people's choice and have no issue with that.
But one thing does always make me laugh when I read few people saying that Burkah is sign of oppression. If you believe so then why do you need to bring in a law to force people to take it off? After all that is more oppressing especially when people are defiant. Because very simply that means that your perception was a mere misconception because the one who had been forced would not defy when someone would try to get them out of that.
Finally I do not want to say if French have made a mistake or not. It is their country and they have right to bring in any law they believe would make their country better or safer. Having said that being a Muslim I believe if anyone believes that they would push Islam on the back foot with anything like this then they are simply wrong. It will work other way and that is the beauty of Islam. Just wait couple of years and see what I mean. You would see more French people converting to Islam in years to come in very near future. Just as when propaganda against Islam increased after 9/11 more people converted to Islam as a result of that.
