Why after 51 years of screening 'Doctor Who' was there any need to include a Lesbian scene in the first place?
/// The decision to remove the first lesbian encounter in the show’s 51-year history has angered gay rights campaigners, who accused executives of giving into homophobia. ///

It' all a bit of a non event ( at least until the BBC decided to remove the scene) and tbh if it was a 'lesbian kiss' it was the least erotic thing I've ever seen. It was an air exchange between two lesbian characters, not quite the same thing, nothing erotic or sexual about it at all. Should it have been removed because someone's sensibiities got upset? No because...

/// Prejudice is prejudice whether it be to do with sexuality or race despite what the "subject under discussion is" the comparison still stands and is pertinent. ///
Oh "despite what the subject under discussion" how strange.
And I will answer yet again if you are that concerned about certain prejudices then start a thread about them yourself, instead of high jacking my thread.
And please don't call me 'Git'.

/// You referred to it as a lesbian kiss in your question. ///
/// Why do you think it was? ///
Oh dear you do go on, how many times do I have to repeat myself, The BBC does, Peter Tatchell does, Stonewall does, and obviously some Asians will.
/// Did you see the episode? ///
No, so whatever the message the BBC is trying to get over who knows I don't.

/// Your personal opinion was unnecessary and has led to the confusion you have created by it. ///
Oh so one is not allowed to air a personal opinion on this site unless of course it fits in with some others agenda?
Perhaps next time I will supply the story and then you can add your thoughts, but even then you and others will hound me to make a comment myself, one just cannot win.
But even so this case it was a question and not an opinion.
/// BBC insiders say the scene, which lasted just a couple of seconds, was cut to avoid falling foul of a broadcasting code in Singapore which says programmes should avoid any content that could ‘justify’ homosexual and lesbian lifestyles. ///

You...it was you who wrote this, not Peter Tatchell, not the BBC and not Stonewall:
Why after 51 years of screening 'Doctor Who' was there any need to include a Lesbian scene in the first place?
If you have not watched the show, and are ignorant of it's content, it would make so much sense to view it on BBC iPlayer to educate yourself first.
As you have made a mistake (the same one that Peter Tatchell and the Daily Mail have), I would suggest you watch the episode - otherwise you risk making yourself look foolish.
