Appears at court today but what of the charges he faces? The 'uniform' charge is bizarre to say the least. Short video in the link where Golding outlines the situation.

mikey, the mosque is being built on a car park adjacent to the station, which is a key commuting point for workers in London. as well as the loss of that facility, the local council has arranged a deal with the train company for the mosque to block-buy nearly 80 spaces in their own car park. thus aside from the disruption of the building work itself, the resultant...

Did you refer back to v_e's post yesterday which was very detailed? Your reply suggests you didn't.

He also put out a clarification yesterday regarding the same point you raised about 'lumping all Muslims together'.

Zacs,

I have no idea in what context the photo was taken. I can only reiterate that it is not representative of BF activists when campaigning in public.
In what context would that photo be acceptable?
From the Britain First Code of Conduct, 'Masks, balaclavas and scarves that cover the face are prohibited on all official Britain First events. All Britain First members and supporters should be proud to show their face in defence of our country and people' hmm...

Correct and thanks for confirming my earlier post about BF appearances in public campaigns.

To me, the appearance in the photo is not acceptable though who knows what point Golding is making in the background. We weren't in the audience.
There is the Britain First Defence Force who appear to be wearing a uniform in this photo (Yorkshire Regiment perhaps?) https://www.britainfirst.org/street-activist/
Why was he allowing them to wear scarves I wonder?

Golding himself faces a trial in January as per the OP. One of the charges relates to wearing a uniform. This is an absurd charge as explained in my exchange earlier today with AOG.
Question Author
Scarves issue, again, I don't know TCL.
That is clearly the uniform of 'The Royal Pigeon Racing Association'
Question Author
Talbot - Im giving you the bird for that ;-)
AGCHRISTIE, you were correct about the word 'absurd' but only in relation to ANOTHEOLDGIT's examples since the uniform must relate to a political group so football fans are in no danger.

The BF campaign in Rochester is being fought on one issue, the granting of another mosque.

In the 2011 Census the population for Medway was appx 250,000 with just 5,000 declaring themselves as Muslim.

The approval of another mosque has resulted in stiff opposition.

The point is that many activists wear their own casual dress. There is no uniform, the attire shown can be obtained from the BF website.
The scarves aren't covering their faces.
In the picture with the men wearing scarves, are they in uniform? The picture I posted, they are members of a Defence Force (their description not mines) and they are in uniform unless it is an amazing co-incidence that they all got dressed up the same even to wearing a flat cap.
LADYBIRDER the scarves obscure their faces and are worn to hide their identity.
I've read through all this, coming in at the (so far) end of the thread, where scarves are an issue. If I were to protest publicly, I would expect my face to be seen because I would not be ashamed of my views and would be prepared to stand up for them.

Thus far, the BF stance seems fine. It is hard to disagree with their main statements - but I don't really like the look of them when one goes a bit deeper. At least I can see them - and if their opponents feel it necessary to cover their faces then I am not prepared to give them the time of day, so the BF is preferable on that basis.
