I Take It They Are Not Worried About Housing Then.
there is a housing shortage in London, so instead of a pub they can make a few flats for the residents of Grenfell to move into if they want it.

JTH, I have no issue with gay bars, used to drink regularly in a bar in Bruxelles affectionate ly known by the British as the Tranny Arms. What I do have a problem with is, as in this case, where help is given in preference. It is wrong and not only that it brings Gay Bars to the fore for every nutter with a grievance. Until we stop this special treatment for small...

No, that's not the case.
Most people in gay friendly bars are gay. Most, not all.
Most people in regular bars are straight. Most, not all.
Whist gay bars have some straight patrons, mostly young straight people will go to straight bars if they are on the pull, because they realise that the demographics of gay friendly bars work against them.

I've just reread your post and realised that I've misunderstood what you mean.
Yes, it's absolutely possible that a straight person will be mistaken for gay in a gay bar, but it's not an issue because the type of straight person who goes to a gay bar is not going to be offended or upset about the approach.
They understand the environment. Those that go to gay bars have always (in my experience) been relaxed and at ease with themselves.
They actually find the attention a compliment.
But like I say - the reason why gay bars exist is for young gay people to meet each other, and one of the key drivers is the same with young straight people - going on the pull.
Do you see that?

Yes, but what I'm saying is that it happens.
I understand your point that you've never seen it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Straight people snog each other all the time in clubs and bars.
And then outside.
Therefore, it's perfectly fair to understand that young gay people should have the right to feel comfortable doing the same.

Do you get the point about gay friendly bars being a place where gay people can do the same as straight people - going out 'on the pull'?
And do you get the thing about demographics? That it's mathematically difficult for young gay people to meet other young gay people in regular bars, pubs and clubs?

My Dad was in a Gay Pub once and someone made a, non-threatening, pass at him. Dad knocked him back without causing offence and did not feel offended himself.....
What do you imagine would happen to you, in those circumstances, AOG? A thunderbolt would descend from the heavens and smite you...?.....or him....? Or that your masculinity would be forever dented or tanished? That you would carry a mark, forever visible, that showed you to be the sort of chap others might think of as being.....gay?!?
