Could This Rapid Rise In Attacks On Lgbt People Be Attributed To The Rise In Foreign Cultures Into This Country?

Well seeing that AOG didn't write the news article merely asked the question, I don't know why he is being attacked .There are numerous countries in the world that are blaming immigrants for the rise in attacks on LGBT people so maybe the answer is yes.

/// Without any facts or figures, you are literally just asking "who is the most prejudiced ABer?" ///
Oh come off it, you excusers make me sick, given the record of Islam's savage and barbaric treatment of gays, isn't it just possible that their intolerance towards them isn't transported along with them to these lands?
It is neither prejudiced, racist or Islamophobic to consider that fact surely?

I still find it odd that lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people are all lumped under one label and called a community.
I don't know about a rapid rise in attacks on people, but I do know that when I went to school (lots of years ago) anyone who was suspected of being gay was bullied. My son is in his twenties, and there were quite a few openly gay people in his year at school, including some 'foreigners'. Everyone shrugged their shoulders when anyone 'announced' that they were gay. "Yeah, we know" was the usual reply.

This is, by far, the most likely cause......

Ah you of pure thinking.
It crossed my mind because this was debated on a radio phone-in and even the presenter admitted it could be a factor.
And I sure anyone who wasn't walking around wearing rose tinted specs, could equally deduce it is a possibility.
Why, in certain areas it isn't safe for a heterosexual female to walk, if wearing clothes not acceptable to the Muslim faith.

ANOTHEOLDGIT your figures don't make sense.
///The number of attacks on lesbian, gay and bisexual people in the UK has soared by nearly 80 per cent in the past four years, new data shows. ///
/// More than one in five LGBT people have experienced a hate crime or incident due to their sexual orientation or gender identity in the last 12 months, compared with 16 per cent in 2013. ///
One in five is 20% so how can a rise from 16% to 20% be an increase of 80% when it's only 25%?

Oh, and another possible reason -- and again, let me stress that I'm in no way minimising the reports of sexual assault or abuse or hate crimes for those unlucky enough to have experienced them -- might be a "widening" of what counts as hate crime or sexual assault, or similar.
So there are a whole host of factors before you even begin to consider the impact of immigration on this. It says rather a lot about you, AOG, that this is the first reason that occurs to you despite there being no indications in the survey or the article to suggest it.

Oh and you can dress it up in an excuse of the radio phone-in all you like, but at this point I could swear that you have a question template: "Could the latest [increase/decrease] in the [[crime/rape/abuse] [figures/statistics]/education results/[insert other recent change here]] be due to IMMIGRANTS??"

And what does it say about me?
Maybe that I am not afraid to suggest that it may be a reason?
And do you really think that any survey or article would dare to suggest that it could be a reason?
Whereas the brain washed PC crowd would rather blame the Far-Right who have never been know to throw homosexuals off tall buildings.
Come on Jim be prepared to call a spade a spade, unlike those up north who for years refused to recognise the Asian Child Abusers, in case they were called racist.
