Is she just pushing an agenda? I think she is being unreasonable and trying to make a point.

Mamya.....NJ's posts are evidence of the ignorance and lack of understanding we hoped were behind us. It’s neither but thanks for mentioning it. My train of thought takes this into account: “Under the Equality Act 2010, any organisation supplying a service to the public is under a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that a disabled person's...

So where would you draw the line at making life better for those with a disability, Baldric......parking bays.....wheelchairs....lifts....you'd do away with those because you don't need them?

///parking bays.....wheelchairs....lifts....you'd do away with those because you don't need them?///

Where did I say that gness?
Please do not put words into my mouth.
I wonder if those who think she is unreasonable have read Hc's link or looked at my videos.
Imagine you, a hearing person, turned up at a concert and were told... We can provide a sound system but choose not to.....but you can just watch the stage and mouth along if know the words.
And we have winner!
My objection to this woman is ,as I said in earlier post, she is suing to obtain something that already exists.
I asked you a question, Baldric.....I didn't put those words in your mouth...it was a question based on your post.
for gawd sake gness, no one is saying un do everything for the disabled, we are just saying that to sue because you ain't happy with a signer is OTT.
As I said..Practicalities don't always allow... availability of signers..cost of provision..suitability of venues.. advanced notice....suitable ticket availability and purchase cost... it's NOT about compliance or willingness..
She had to threaten them to get the signer. That's the issue.
It often is, I'm afraid, Minty......I can't think of a place where a signer wasn't able to accompany us.......some signers will, I know, assist without charge.....not all but it's common.
Have you at least looked at the videos......and listened to the lady in the last one?..x

Ok, parking bays.....wheelchairs....lifts, no of course I don't want to do away with them, they are all a great help to the disabled, necessary even.
A Signer at a concert, I'm going to take some convincing that's a necessity.
Because you're not deaf, Baldric and you can't see deafness.....have you read the link or looked at the videos to see the difference it makes?
There are a lot of invalid comparisons being made in this thread.

If you go to a small concert then fine, loudspeakers are not necessary. If it is larger then they will prove necessary to sell tickets. If you bought a ticket knowing there were no loudspeakers and you'd have difficulty hearing that would be your option.

Similar goes for most if not all comparisons on this thread. The question is what is reasonable for special treatment for those with disability.

An assumption,
'Baldric is not deaf'
That's the way it's going is it?
Are you deaf Baldric?
If I went to a performance with the whole school and saw the deaf children enjoying it as much as the hearing children because there was a signer performing too it was bliss....

I'd feel really mean if I thought the signer shouldn't be there...when it's such an easy service to provide so all the children could share the event and the joy and excitement.
It saves him answering my questions, Kval.x

I'll leave you to carry on the VS gness and up until now I believe I have answered all your questions
You haven't answered mine Baldric, are you deaf?
