Is she just pushing an agenda? I think she is being unreasonable and trying to make a point.

Mamya.....NJ's posts are evidence of the ignorance and lack of understanding we hoped were behind us. It’s neither but thanks for mentioning it. My train of thought takes this into account: “Under the Equality Act 2010, any organisation supplying a service to the public is under a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that a disabled person's...

You haven't, Baldric.
Some are just not considering the atmosphere at concerts. You don't get that from watching a concert on TV with a signer in the corner.

Oops, you're right, I missed 11:47
Yes and Yes and I saw the Women on TV a while ago, and I still question why it is a necessity.
But you aren;t going to answer my question , are you deaf?
dannyk "Hc, It was the daughters who were the fans of Little Mix, and they are not deaf, so they would not need an interpreter. The adults are deaf and so could not hear the music. Why would they require an interpreter? " - dunno what she's moaning about, with that racket I'd have thought it's an advantage to be deaf.
To be fair, TTT, you think lots of things - some are sensible (because I agree with them - eg "diesel cars are carp"), and some are quite entirely radio fruitloop.

I think we're on option two here.

Because legally they should provide one.

After 20 years as a RM playing with Guns and other things that go Bang, yes I am. I have Hearing Aids for both ears, the almost invisible ones that virtually disappear inside. With them I am able to function normally, do not require a signer and most people are not even aware of them, Cinemas and Concerts are no problem.

Then you haven't read, Baldric....and you haven't listened. Neither has TTT.

Minty..if I can come back to you. You give reasons why a signer needn't/can't be at a concert. I can't think of a venue where a signer couldn't be accommodated.....but that would be fine if it were so....we would have accepted that.

Is it just those who are deaf who shouldn't have life made better and more enjoyable?
Or should we not fund wider parking bays, ramps, dropped kerbs, toilets for the disabled, braille on bleach bottles?
All these make life better.....why should the deaf be treated differently...
It's so easy...if you've watched the videos....to make a young deaf person's experience wonderful....as wonderful as that of a hearing person....so why not?...x

And like I said earlier, Baldric...there are many types of deafness...yours can be helped by aids...not all can.
so you are a fan of little mix then sunnyD?? PMSL!
Actually you've surprised me, Baldric.......I would have thought someone with aids would have known what, in certain types of deafness, what they do to sound?
Ignore one "what"...before you start..... ;-)

I am not a fan of litigation, that said , after finally agreeing to an interpretor it's amazing it wasn't provided for the whole concert.

Many of us have disabilities that can't be easily helped to fit into an all inclusive happy experience, but in this case it could have been done and wasn't.
Thanks to those who posted wonderful videos and articles.
Lynne, see my post at 10.04
Seen it thank you, so she mentions that fact in one interview but not in another.

Understood.

I am amazed that this subject needs more awareness, I thought we were largely there with this one as evidenced by many other examples.
Sadly we're not, Mamya......by a long way..... :-(
