/// It wouldn't bother me not to shake hands, any more than it bothered me when a temple attendant in Greece ushered myself and my father-in-law out of the temple because we were wearing shorts. ///
Going into a temple in shorts, that is just a lack of common courtesy, I am surprised at both you and your father in law. //
We enquired in advance of our trip if there were any dress restrictions for men or ladies, and we were advised that for ladies, bare arms and legs are frowned on, but for gentlemen, there is no dress restriction.
We did attempt to dress in a manner respectful to the temple, but it seems we were given incorrect information.
In my eyes, making a fuss and a stand about being incorrectly advised would have been disrespectful, but because we are not, we adjourned to the outside immediately as requestedner
But being you are as open minded as you constantly tell us, I don't think that you would object to a burka wearing Muslim woman being rushed out of one of our cathedrals?
