^ assuming it was registered thus. But I doubt that would have stopped her getting a British passport for the child if her citizenship hadn't been revoked (and that might eventually get reversed sadly)
hasn't happened yet
,..and it will also still be British since it's mother is British by birth (unless she was born in Bangledesh) even though they have (now) stripped her of her passport and citizenship. You can't do these things retrospectively, but I do think it's imperative that the baby is brought to either the UK or Holland if at all possible, otherwise we're just creating another problem for ourselves, plus it's the morally right thing to do.
Dutch law states that if a child is born and one parent is Dutch then the child is automatically of Dutch nationality. This has been the law since the mid eighties. My Spanish daughter-in-law has a sister married to a Dutchman. All their children have Dutch Passports.
Yes no-one is arguing with that Andres, but the child is also going to be a British subject ( unless it's mother was born in Bangledesh), that's also a fact.
// Good. Although I expect there will be lots of people rushing to argue that this is unlawful//

like the family's lawyers

presumably the Sadge is satisfied that she has another default one. The letter is as the al-Jazza case described - it is served on the nearest garden gnome and has immediate effect

and it doesnt matter than she doesnt know or doesnt have the papers or anything. Her appeal has to be to SIAC from her internment camp.

The Home Secretary is not allowed to behave unlawfully - that is act like this if he knows she will be stateless. She might have unwisely said she has not papers at all in which case SHE has to run around and show she is a Brit not the Brit Govt that she isnt.

I mean she is exercising her right to free speech ....
Let her father go and rescue her, he's been very quiet recently?
I suspect he knows that she was born in Bangledesh Pete which is why he feels safe enough to do this because as you say you can't make folk stateless however much they tick you off :/ x
HI Andres - thanks for your cont - I did wonder about the ickle baby being dutch

do they have to born in Holland?
Does the father have to say Yes it is mine?
Does the father have to register the birth with the Dutch authorities ?

I am just interested ....
Her father didn't show much interest when she was a child - he wasn't int he country- left her with Mum then uncles/grandad while he had his own causes
^Mine was to TonyV- about Shamima's dad
// Yes no-one is arguing with that Andres, but the child is also going to be a British subject ( unless it's mother was born in Bangledesh), that's also a fact.//

er well the el-jazza case makes it clear ( portuguese father is declining to facilitate registration with the portuguese authorities - english ct not really interested in whether that was a go-er or not) the default nationality is a fact and not a possibility or yes if Dad signs the bluddy form that he said he would .....or Mrs Mopp THINKS the child may be ....
PP^^^^^ I don't think it matters where they are born just if one parent is Dutch. All my daughter-in-laws sister's children were born in Madrid but all have Dutch Passports. Perhaps if you ' Wiki 'it you will get more information.
FF thought he was the father that took her to anti English protests when she was a child?
she was born in 1999 . Mum brought her up here. Dad didn't move here until 2008. He remarried a few years later. She was brought up mainly by her uncle- he was an Islamic scholar- maybe you are thinking of him. She also lived with her grandmother
// All my daughter-in-laws sister's children were born in Madrid but all have Dutch Passports.//

yeah but the father must have done his stuff surely? like go down to the Netherlands embassy and tell them ....

and while we are at it
the children would be entitled to Spanish nationality as well - born in Spain ( jus solis) - however this would not be enough to allow the Dutch authorities to withdraw citixenship because it is only a possibility and not a fact. ( al-jazza again)
Delighted....some cojones finally!!!
Shamima Begum 'will be spoken to' warns Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick

Well if that doesn't put her off coming back..............
Calico is suggesting she was born in Bangladesh. If that's the case she is dual nationality and Javid is revoking her British nationality first.

If she is not dual nationality then Javid cannot revoke her British nationality.

Re the baby, it's definitely(?!) hers, not so definitely the Dutch guy's. Highly unlikely that the birth is registered anywhere. Its nationaliity is therefore unclear and disputable. British, Dutch, Syrian, Bangladeshi or some combination of those four could be a possibility.

What's clear is that Begum was a child victim of brainwashing and radicalisation before leaving the UK, and she is still. Blaming her for her current state is, to some extent at least, blaming the victim because she is to some extent a victim - she was radicalised as a child on our turf. If, instead of radicalisation and leaving the country, she had been sexually abused and was now working as a prostitute in the UK, perhaps people would see that differently.
Great result for her own safety. After all young white girls wearing short western attire are regarded as *** and accosted by the vigilante 'sharia law' patrols in Bethnal Green and Luton etc.
Begum and her ilk are no more than sandbag prostitutes for any Daesh terrorist who wishes to abuse females. She went to Syria to produce sprogs from an unknown male. She is a *** and by their civilised law should be stoned to death.
I am sure our moderate imans in the mosques of Manchester and Finsbury Park are so disappointed that she cannot come home to their turf for appropriate sharia justice. TIC
