27 years is a good start to a sentence "without limit". I doubt he'll ever leave prison.

If they have proved themselves unfit and unable to live with society
then they are no use to society whatsoever like so much rubbish and should be executed by the state. Not Murder by the state but retribution.

They were given different sentences in a different country under different laws and they admitted their crime

Although we know capital punishment doesn’t exist in this country, I agree with Andres - and if a lethal injection is likely, as douglas says, to create suffering (although we seem to be good at it for animals), then give him a general anaesthetic before administering the dose. That way he'll know nothing about it. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. Society would be better off without him.

Because a civilised society does not 'value' a life in that way.

A civilised society elects to incarcerate its murderers because the alternative is to do what they have done.

The murderer has acted for a variety of reasons, but none of them include deliberated institutional murder by a group of people of sound mind - so to avoid us becoming murderers in our turn, we undertake the cost of incarceration instead.
