But for this utter savage it should be the rope or if we cannot have that full life, no parole ever.
Even after 27 years he will be able to live a life after raping and murdering this poor six year old, lets just hope the hand wringers have been expunged from any decision making by then.

I am not sure what point you are making?
I assume, if you'll allow me to speculate, that based on your views of punishment, his lack of remorse or explanation makes him a better candidate for execution?

retrocop - // Well you state that living in his house made you go against his views and form the opposite..
That rebelliouusness must of started at some age irrespective of your current age. //
That works on the presumption that I formed my views simply as a rebellion, which does me something of a disservice. I formed my views based on what I think as a free-thinking adult, not to make a stand against my father, who was too busy giving all and sundry his own views ever to listen to anyone else's.
// No it is not your society and it is not a civilised one either. //
Then why did you post that it was? You really must make sure your views are clear before you post, this swivelling retraction you do so often is quite confusing.

yeah the thread is pretty wobbly
Here is another definition of 'murder': "Murder is the unlawful killing of another human without justification or valid excuse."
we define what we like
it is just that wasnt the definition used by the judge - the definition above includes manslaughter and manslaughter by gross negligence
I mean come on boys and girls - let us call a thing a thing and not another thing ( Bishop Butler but I am not sure which one)

retrocop - // Unlike you it would appear most ABers read through the post before jumping in. //
On the contrary, I read every post before I respond, and i do respond, as opposed to 'jumping in'.
This saves me the tiresome task of retracting what I have said a few minutes later, something which you do on a regular basis.
Now, shall we return to the debate?

pixie - // Out of interest, retrocop, are you saying he had no mental disturbance, or was a psychopath? And does or should it make a difference to the sentence? //
I would suggest that some sort of moral high-ground moral assessment of a criminal's state of mind, linked to his proposed punishment, is the preferred approach of the Capital Punishment supporter, I am only guessing, since I don't view criminal behaviour in that way.

Naomi - // ah, //Reading it is what anyone and everyone can do - 'assessing it' is something peculiar to you. //
That's a daft thing to say. //
Do you have a point that refers to the debate, or are you simply going off-thread in order to be personally rude to me?
That is how threads get derailed and deleted, I am surprised at you, I know you know better.

It may be for some people, Andy, I don't know. My view is (now- and it never used to be) that there are some that will never be rehabilitated and become anything positive in society... for whatever reason... and safe to be released. It seems fairer on everyone, including actually, criminals themselves, to not either destroy other lives by releasing them, or leave them imprisoned forever with no hope.
Naomi - // ah, My comment does refer to the debate. You said (quite wrongly) that assessing other people’s posts is something peculiar to me, and I responded. If you want to move on from that, do it. //
Respond by all means, but being rude in doing so is unacceptable.
Enough deviation, you have been rude - again - I have called you out on it, and I don't want to derail the thread in pointlessly arguing your school-marm'ish petty judgements.
