I certainly recognise that speech. It sounds very similar to a highly praised speech attributed to Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard. This speech was denied and snopes said it was a HOAX. It went viral. It is strange no one turned a hair when it was circulated but then it wasn't attributed to POTUS was it? //: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT....

// Maybe Donald Trump has made a valid point .//
Not only that, he has identified the fact that certain "people" are only happy when they are being outraged, or exercising their acute sense of victimhood and woke neediness. He is providing a public service by ensuring that they get to display their worthiness and sentimental credentials, whilst having a very public snowflake meltdown on the World stage, regularly and hilariously.

retrocop - // Then were do you get your vitriol fuelled spiteful comments from? //
Once again, you feel the need to shift the conversation from me attacking President Trump, and you defending him, which is a perfectly legitimate debate and appropriate for the site and section - to you making a sustained personal attack on me personally, which is not appropriate anywhere.
// We have to have an element of trust in what we hear or read from the media don't we? //
Do we? That is another subject for another day I think.
//Of course, as an unqualified journalist, you stated a few years back that you were assigned the Montreal Jazz Festival. A subject you admitted you hadn't a clue on. Report on it you did so why should any hapless reader of a music rag believe anything you opine with regard to the music scene? //
Let me just clarify a few points here, to make your attack a little less about being personally nasty to me, and a little more about the facts concerning my writing - which are nothing to do with the thread, but you have attacked, so I will defend -
Firstly, I cover very little actual jazz at the Festival, it has a wide remit of musical styles, which I do cover because I have vast experience in doing so.
My reports on the Festival are either live reviews on specific acts, none of which have been jazz, or an overview of the Festival for none-jazz titles. This year for example, I am supplying live reviews on Voivod, an extreme metal band, and The Alan Parsons Project, a progressive rock band, of course, neither are jazz artists, and the reviews are for Classic Rock, which is not a jazz magazine.
Glad to put you straight on those inaccuracies for future reference, should you need them - hopefully you won't if you lay off the attacks and stick to the thread.
// FYI a full menu of the state banquet was mentioned for the State Visit of POTUS. It included the wine list with each course. As an aside it was mentioned that POTUS did not normally drink alcohol but may have a glass of wine on this occasion. //
If you were ask keen to read what I post about the thread as you are to attack me off the thread, you would have read this at 16:46 - a response to Ludwig which perhaps you skipped over looking for spurious connections to things I have not said, yet again -
// I am happy to stand corrected on my misunderstanding regarding the President's alcohol consumption on the wee small hours … //
So, shall we return to the debate now? I think that's a better use of your time, it's certainly a better use of mind.

andres - // If I was a qualified person in the medical profession my instincts would make me go back and try to help my people . Maybe Donald Trump has made a valid point . Those women might be US citizens now but their ancestry will be rooted in some of those crime, drugs, poverty stricken and diseased countries that he spoke about. //
I am not sure if you have missed the entire point behind the criticism of the president for his observations, but let me just point out to you that if these ladies' ancestors are from other countries, then that is simply an accident of birth, and beyond their ability to alter.
So as far as helping the instinct for them to help 'my people', er that is what three are doing - they are Americans born and bred, the people they are helping are their fellow Americans.
The notion that they should 'go back to anywhere' is farcical - no-one suggests to the President that he pops back to lavish his either his millions or his supposed business expertise on his forefathers' decedents, and why on earth would he, or should he?
He wouldn't and shouldn't - he is an American citizaen elected to serve in the government of the American people, two facts of life which he shares with three of the ladies he was so rude about, with his usual cavalier ignoring of simple facts.

I politely asked you to withdraw and delete a statement that was very clumsily written by you. The way it was written could be easily misconstrued as a personal attack against my son of whom you are aware.
You stated that you were impotent yet when I objected to a post you made last year with regard to my employ which was a personal attack you managed to apologise and have your post removed. It isn't difficult for a Mod is it?

retrocop- // That is why I suggested earlier he clearly meant that, when he said in the tweet, 'country of origin' //
But it's not 'their country of origin' - that is the entire point!!!!
Their country of origin is the USA - their forebears could have come from Mars for the all relevence to their rights to be in America are concerned.

No I didn't, I stated that I was not able as a Moderator to remove a post that I was involved in discussing - my 'potency' was not, and is not relevant as far as you are concerned.

Unlike you, I don't carry memories of exchanges from last year, or even lost week for that matter, so I have no recollection of the exchange to which you refer. as far as my post being removed, it was not by me, for reasons already explained.
If you feel my post should be removed, you have recourse to the reporting system, and the Editor will make a decision.

//your self-obsession really is getting out of hand.//
Lol. Someone sound the irony klaxon. Go back and read your rants, not only on this thread, but other Trump threads and when you have bored yourself ad nauseum give yourself a dose of self obsession with regard to Yaxley- Lennon. It really is amusing at times but getting very repetitious and tedious.

In fact then, your country of origin is the UK.
If you are prepared to support the President's position in terms of helping out your 'country of origin' - you'd better make sure your passport is up to date, and start making plans to emigrate.
