/// Were you born miserable, AOG, the police are just having a bit of fun. ///

There is a time and place for having fun and dancing at one of the most troublesome carnivals, is not what the police are paid to do.
I'd get fired if I suddenly stood up from my desk and started doing the samba. Their job is coppering, end of.

so its acceptable for a man to grind against a woman?
Maybe they were on a break!

Anyway, same sort of complaint, different year.
Webbo - where did I say that? It was a carnival goer doing that not a police person so has Jack to do with the question.
Yes they should be banned.

Like TTT points out if I did that I'd be fired. They are in the employ of the taxpayer to police nt enjoy themseves.
Part of a copper's job is forging good public relations too. They are both public servant and authority symbol. (Allowing disrespect is a tricky area though. The video of the policewoman seems over the line to me and the guy should've received a warning. I assume the police were under orders to not inflame any situation, keep it calm and light; and so weren't sure the correct action when some nob tries to go too far.)

/// 12.27, well that's like saying we'll stop working on all the paperwork an evidence required for the trial, because we are still mourning. ///

Don't be silly, who said anything about stop working? They are there to police proceedings not to jig around dancing.
And I did not expect to be taken literally when I said "standing in the background".

the police officer did nothing so it has everything to do with the question.
12.50 well its you who seem to think they have stopped working, because of the odd jig just to please the crowd. Its you that's silly
what about this,

police officer daggering girls..

I think the police should perform a Full Monty routine. But seriously, a bit of jigging around occasionally is fine, as long as they are still doing their job well. Difficult not to jig when music is all around you! Or do we want a military police force.

So it would be quite in order for an airline pilot to leave the cockpit so as to have a jig with one of the female flight attendants, just to please the passengers you understand?
Aog - now you’re just being ridiculous. The police are at an event where others are dancing, I v doubt that a flight attendant is doing a jig up and down the aisles.
A little dancing and crowd interaction is fine. It helps to defuse that "them against us" atmosphere.

If the fella in webbo's youtube link is a genuine copper, that's taking it too far and he needs to be reprimanded.
Truly scraping the bottom of the barrel there, AOG!
Webbo, re the man grinding the female officer - she was not cooperating and handled it the best way she could.

Re, your video 12.57 - That man was arrested , presumably for impersonating a Police Officer.

//So it would be quite in order for an airline pilot to leave the cockpit so as to have a jig with one of the female flight attendants//

They do leave the cockpit in flight AOG. No room to dance, but they can socialise with staff and passegers in flight, and they often do.

I thought the same tbh
Every year the same question and the same response!
