To make it clear I do not "dig into people's personal lives" as has been suggested. I do what most people on this site do and provide a link. If you do not like it, you do not have to read it. The "engagement" is neither here nor there, but please remember he still has a wife. They are not divorced yet and this must be a real slap in the face for her and the children of the marriage.
//They are not divorced//

They are separated.

//this must be a real slap in the face for her and the children of the marriage.//

They were all aware of the relationship. This statement alone is a example of "digging into their private lives", as I don't think the thoughts of his children have been published.

He gets engaged, and gets butchered by his distractors. If he hadn't have done that and got Carrie knocked up, he'd have still been butchered. He can't really win can he?

You're right Mozz, he can't win. The only tragedy for the UK is that he "won" at all.
Maggie, with respect. Your link is typical gutter press. These announcements usually do commence //EXCLUSIVE: Friends have told of the hurt and anger of the Prime Minister's family, with estranged wife Marina Wheeler said to be crushed by news of his engagement to Carrie Symonds

So there we have it. From not digging around in the personal lives of people to basically admitting you're using this whole story to belittle someone you dislike politically in consecutive posts.

He's got plenty of political gaffs to concentrate on. Leave his personal life alone.
The fact that Boris and Carrie are having a baby together is irrelevant as far as we on here are concerned.What is relevant though is what happens in the government that he is Prime Minister of.He has delegated ministers to handle issues like the flooding crisis and money is being made available though that will never replace things like wedding photographs lost.The government have drawn up plans to attempt to deal with the coronavirus both for the short term and longer term should the epidemic become a pandemic.Finally David Frost is in Brussels for what people never thought possible,negotiations on our future relationship with the E.U. after we leave in December.
P.S. Jackdaw he isn't,yet,our greatest Prime Minister since Thatcher but he's a better alternative than who we might have had.
//So there we have it.//

We do indeed, Mozz - but most would have realised that immediately the OP was posted. ;o)

It's more fun to let her trip herself up though!
A regular occurrence. ;o)

Naomi I refuse to rise to your bait, I know what you're like. OK for others to post links to the gutter press like the Daily Wail, but when I do it you wait to pounce. Please feel free to ignore all my posts. Ah well, must get on with the rest of this beautiful sunny day.
No bait, maggiebee. Simply observation - and not just mine.
Naomi moans whenever someone posts an article which doesn't correspond to her views. She attacks me for posting Guardian and BBC links.
diddly, //She attacks me for posting Guardian and BBC links. //

Wake up. You're dreaming.
Para 1 - [Marina Wheeler] "is said" to be in pieces.
Para 2 - "Friends say"
Para 3 - "A source said"
Para 4 - "Other friends said"
Para 5 - "And sources say"

& so it goes on.

This article is purely made-up speculation written to appeal to the feeble minded, and is best ignored.
// You must all know by now how much I detest the man.//

for chrissakes maggz we arent asking you to marry the man !
A man that continually winds up the lefties, especially on here. What an excellent chap.

Go BoJo !

PS I always thought an engagement was so you could get your leg over, doenst look like that was the case so not sure why he has bothered
Naomi - I'm not dreaming. You clearly have a very short and selective memory.
Not half as selective and blinkered as yours though.
