Prudie. Let the children play around with words, they are just like immature sheep. Basically harmless and useless :-) hey ho .
The UK doesn’t even know how many people have recovered from the virus (nearly every other nation has that data, but the UK doesn’t).
gromit stop it wioth your anti British BS, we have an RZERO rate too, it was on the stats yesterday. Try paying attention instead of look for ways to talk your own side down.
UK R0 = 0.62, down from 2.6 pre lock down and lower than Germany's 0.7 when they started lifting restrictions. Not hard Gromit.
Thanks Zacs.

We know Germany’s RO is 0.9. I have Googled and cannot find the UKs RO.

I would be grateful if you would pist the number.

Thanks.
*Post* the number.
I agree with ttt( I know) , I think the general public will ease the lockdown themselves. They are impatient to get back to some sort of normality/work ., I hope it does not backfire .
To ZM "It's not going to die off while we're stuck at home" to clarify I meant the virus is not going to burn itself out and disappear off the planet. People seem to think 3/6/9 more weeks they can step outside and it won't be around.
And, just in case you’re thinking of arguing that we don’t have a set R0 value, Germany’s is constantly changing:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/28/germans-urged-to-stay-home-amid-covid-19-infection-rate-fears

And theirs is going up, due to the relaxation of various ‘lockdown’ restrictions, as someone else has pointed out.
//A few more weeks and we'll have confirmed the absolute futility and nonsense that is association football possibly ending the odd linguistic stylings and excuse making skills of the retired kickster turned 'expert' and freeing the airwaves from their drivel for ever.

That's a price I'm willing to pay.//

A Yoon, that’s not a jambo or a fanboy of the blue side of the uglies is a rarity on its own, but you dinae like fitbaw?
Are you sure your Scots, bud ;)?

That^^^ was to Gromit.
Thanks, Prudie. There’s a lot of debate about whether the virus will burn out, but it does look unlikely. I haven’t seen anyone saying it won’t be around in 3/6/9 weeks.
we'll end up doing TTI in some form.
"The UK doesn’t even know how many people have recovered from the virus (nearly every other nation has that data, but the UK doesn’t)."

Gromit I would love to know how any country has an accurate figure for this?
we'll end up doing TTI in some form. ????
Of course it is right to maintain the lockdown. However at some point things will have to be allowed to return to something like normality. To enable this to happen I believe social distancing will remain in place at least for the rest of this year and maybe up until a proven vaccine is found. Also someone will have to formulate a plan for the return of children to school even this on a part time basis because 56 children on a school bus is not viable.
I plucked 3/6/9 at random but there are people on this thread and in society saying they'd rather wait a bit as if it will be gone. Look at TD's first answer for example. I feel people think wait a bit and it won't be an issue anymore.
There is also evidence of reinfection so I don't think it's going to die out any time soon even if lockdown is eased.
