I note that this idea comes from the EU side.
I’ve never bought into this idea that somehow Johnson is close to, or even believes he is close to, Trump politically.
“Spectacularly ignorant and unfit for office” is how he once described Trump, and I can’t imagine anything that’s happened since can have changed this, despite all the understandable ego-massaging flattery that’s come in recent times.
This seems like a misconception on the European side, and indeed in the Democrat side.
If it isn’t, we’re in trouble!

I don't see an issue whether one waits or not. One should be more concerned of reports that he and Frost have made further unstipulated concessions at the negotiations when we seemed already down to our red lines and waiting for the EU to make their concessions to catch us up. One hopes these reports are remainer wishful thinking, or at least not what they seem.
I think different quotes are getting mixed up. Nothing spectacular about that. https:/ /theint ercept. com/201 9/07/23 /boris- johnson -donald -trump- unfit/
It would be wise for the British Government to know who it will be negotiating with in the US before deciding our next step.
It would be unwise to think a Trump win will be good for the UK. Trump has a habit of going back on pledges, and the UK would be left high and dry. And ‘No deal’ for whatever reason will be a disaster for the UK business.

Yes it might indeed make sense for the UK to wait for the election result (bearing in mind the result might in theory not necessarily be known on Nov 4, though a landslide looks on the cards).
And bearing in mind also Trump is in situ until late January anyway)
It’s the notion that Trump being re-elected means the Brexit stars align that’s nonsensical
