He obviously thinks he can get a better deal with Europe than with Joe Biden. Makes sense to bide his time and get whatever is best for the UK.

I assume you'd rather he dived before lolking at all the options?

Sensible decision, as Mozz has said.
From Jim's link:

//Senior figures in European governments believe Boris Johnson is waiting for the result of the US presidential election.... //

Oh so Boris hasn't said this. It's the opinion of senior figures in European governments. Okay.
Even if this is just a rumour it probably makes some level of sense. The UK's biggest trading partner is the EU, but it's clearly an objective of Brexit to switch to the US as far as possible. How easy that will be may depend on the leader. Therefore the US Election result matters to that assessment.

It'll be even more of a rumour with you and Gulliver on the case, Jim.
It seems that even being logical isn't going to help you here Jim. Naomi seems to be in one of her argumentative moods.
Not sure what your point is. If Johnson isn't considering how the US election made a difference to the UK's future then he's a moron.
No, Mozz. I just read links.
Yes, but all Jim suggested, as I did in my first reply, is that it would be prudent of Boris to wait and see what happens in the US. Do you not agree?
Jim, //Not sure what your point is. //

My point is that the OP appears to be claiming this as a statement of fact. It isn't.
Perhaps it would help if I pointed out that I was providing the link so that people would see what gulliver was talking about, and that I was certainly *not* providing the link to indicate that I agreed with him.

Right ..........
Are you going to answer my question Naomi?
I don't know why I bother explaining my thoughts sometimes.
Mozz, no. I just want out - properly out - and the sooner the better.
So getting what's best forthe country isn't important to you?
Fair enough, but you must also have some idea of where you want to go when we're "out" -- and that presumably depends on what relationships we can expect to forge that replace the one we had with the EU. If it will be harder to get something with the US, then you may have to be patient and accept a closer relationship with the EU for the time being.

Or, at least, that wouldn't be unreasonable for the leader, whose responsibility it is to get this right for the nation, to think about. As opposed to we armchair politicians who have no say and no responsibility for the outcome.
//So getting what's best forthe country isn't important to you? //

Ooer! You'd better not let Andy-Hughes catch you with that one!

I'll leave you two to talk among yourselves. I can't be bothered to go around the Remainer route for the millionth time.
