How Much Longer Are People Going To Meekly Roll Over And Accept These Draconian Rules?
The damage being done to our economy is incalculable yet I see people in the street being interviewed on the news saying they accept it and its nessasary and they will comply and some saying it doesn't go far enough. Do these people understand how the economy works? I seriously doubt it. The only people who dare mildly disagree are the business owners of bars and restaurants who are in real danger of having to close down permanently. When the tsunami of unemployed start rolling down the track after furlough is ended, these same people who are calling for the lock down to continue will then be blaming the government for the increase in unemployment. I really do despair.

It never ocurred to me or to anyone AFAIK tho at the time , as rates were falling in most areas apart from a few areas like Leicester and Balckburn with multigeneration large households
Like many others, I fail to see the reasoning behind certain prohibitions. I am baffled by the one where pubs in the lower tiers are allowed to open provided they serve 'substantial meals'. Leaving aside the question of what constitutes a substantial meal, can anyone tell me how the chances of infection are reduced by eating such? I was also told today, although I don't know whether it's true, that provided the pub serves such meals there is no obligation to buy one, you can just buy a drink.
//Maybe youve never been in a pub especially at the end of the night on friday/saturday and seen how people lose there inhibitions and forget social distancing as they sing, shout and hug (and more) others//
You're frequenting the wrong places, bobbin. The vast majority of pubs are nothing like that and I've never seen a restaurant (which are subject to the same restrictions) where anybody behaves like that. Many hospitality outlets make 25% to 30% of their annual profits in December. This government (and I'm a Tory supporter so it hurts me to say this) is presiding over the systematic destruction of an enormously important industry. It is doing so without there being any evidence that these places are any more responsible than anywhere else for the spread of infections.

People are too scared to stand up to bad laws & rules. No one wants hassle in their life, so the public are very manipulable. This may be a test of that. We know masks don't help (see recent Danish investigation) but their still mandatory by order of the control freak government. Western values are being trampled underfoot. The sooner they opt for a light touch just the keep hospital admissions at a tolerable level, and let the general population get on with catching cov and getting immune, the better. I don't recognise this world of nations any more. They have no backbone. They just want to hide away. No resilience to life's problems; past generations, sat on their cloud, playing their harp, must be sad to see what we've become.
Judge you must of missed my post immediately after my first when a said about restraints altho a realise you like to be selective in trying to rubbish all my points even tho they seem to be supported by all scientists, doctors ( ask a gp , oh you'll say its shut) and all political parties in all 4 nations but still you think your right and there wrong. Maybe you should stand for election . Why not support your goverment so we are all doing the same thing rather than whingeing and picking holes and mocking peopel like me until this virus is gone hopefully by summer
