Christmas can't go ahead as originally planned.

We just arrived back from our walk in time to see this being announced on telly.

We are going to my parents on Christmas Day and they're in tier 1.

It's going to be a long winter as this game plays out with politicians rolling the dice hoping to hit lucky with their decisions.

Coming out of lockdown on December 3rd was stupid. Going in so late was stupid. Going on about Christmas, especially when it was so clearly obvious in the data that there would be no choice but to cancel it, was stupid.

They haven't particularly done much, Jim, so I'm not sure they can be blamed... it's a natural problem.
They haven't done a recent lockdown... at least, everyone under 18 was still expected to continue as usual, as well as most workers, "essential shopping", keyworkers etc. It didn't affect most people.
Punishing small businesses was never going to be enough. But, it is a little late now to suggest people should be changing Christmas plans.
Take it seriously, or don't.... but these continual half-measures just seem to be drawing it out for longer, both risking health and the economy at the same time.

jim admit it or don;t there will be plenty of people out of a population of 65 million or so who won;t stick to any government guidelines. You can lock everyone down from here to kingdom come, but some maybe many who don;t want care. Those on Ab have said what they will do fine.

You can only hide for so long. Face it. It’s not going away except to mutate into variants of Covid. We are all going to be exposed to this thing eventually. I’ve read 98% survival rate. Get it over with. This is destroying us mentally, emotionally, economically, turning neighbours against each other. I repeat we cannot hide forever. The vaccine is our best recourse.
