Christmas can't go ahead as originally planned.

This won't affect us too much as we've no plans. What about you?

So sorry, zacs, I've heard about it.... I hope she recovers well soon xx
Thanks, pix! She’s a tough young bird but it’s taken her to the end of her tether a few times over the last few months. X
So sorry to hear that Pixie x
pasta i am sure some will.
Sending your daughter and your family best wishes Zac ,it must have been a terrible worrying time for all of you, glad your girl has come through xxxxx
Not that rare Zacs but worrying for you and your wife, but the prognosis for recovery is good.
Is it mainly affecting her legs?
Thanks bobbie. Yes squad and her hands. Prognosis is good but the mental strain in the current situation is tough for us all but especially her.
Zacs, I can understand that.
Thanks, sqad.
apart from last year i normally spend the holidays with my brothers and sils usually for a week or more as they live a long way off, i like to celebrate my birthday with them, but thats not to be this year. I have accepted that, but its not knowing when we might see each other again that i find difficult.
Thanks bobbi xx
pasta we will have to have a drink together on CD< - i have been given some booze possibly champers by a friend and we can toast each other down the ether.
Looks like I spoke too soon, we're not immune after all. Her Nippiness has spoken.

'Christmas time, misery and whine...'
Family Christmas off! Haven’t seen them for nine months! We can’t travel between Devon and St Ives (the other one!) in one day! Will have to hope we can buy ingredients for Christmas Dinner next week! Grandchildren will not get their presents. It is a disaster for us and we are devastated.
My mum (85) has decided not to come to us for Christmas Day. She’s just concerned about who we’re mixing with, even tho we’re being v careful. It’s a brave decision in terms of thinking how many Christmas’s she’s got left. I know Answerbank members contain a lot of similarly aged people and I appreciate how tough it must be for you.
carol as it seems for many, i wont get to see nephews opening their pressies nor natter away to brother and sil,
Best wishes to you and your daughter, Zacs. My ex FIL had it, though he couldn't pronounce it for toffee.
indeed zacs.
We will do Zoom on Christmas Day. Friends have asked us over for Boxing Day, but in tier 2 I am not sure what we can do.
Why would anyone be planning on meeting others in any situation? You only have yourselves to blame if friends/family end up getting/spreading covid whatever the variant. It is just a date in the calendar - wait and have a get together in better times.
