Trump Impeachment
71 Answers
So the circus in The Senate gets underway. Trump has the nerve to say that 'this sacred, landslide victory was unceremoniously and viciously taken away'. What's sad is that there will be an endless stream of Democrats and Republicans spouting the same rehearsed litanies. Trump's defence team making a statement in about half an hour. As a process it's painful, only enlivened with Trump accusing Pence of cowardice.

I doubt the 17 Republicans will turn and find him guilty. And he won’t be banned for standing again. So largely a waste of time. The Biden Administrati on has a lot to do, they shouldn’t be sidetracked by this nonsense.

Another Nothingburger.
$2billion in damage and 25 deaths in the St George Floyd riots. All spurred on or excused by Democrat politicians. There's something that needs investigating.
Remember, although your Democrat heroes are calling 1/6 (lol) the worst terrorist attack since 9/11, nothing was set on fire and only 1 person was assaulted in the building.
That was an unarmed white girl shot and killed by a black guard. Where are the race warriors now????

As for the fools still bleating about Russia, they're a cross between those ancient Japanese soldiers who not realising the war was over kept 'popping up' on Pacific Islands in the 1970's and the whinging, deluded Remoaners.
Do you not realise what the rest of us know? All the sociopaths that appeared on the News every night convincing the hard of thinking that Trump was on the brink of Impeachment over m'Russia have been totally exposed as the lying fantasists they were/are.
When they were asked about their 'evidence' in the House Hearings, where perjury will get you serious jail-time, to a man and woman they knew nothing, had heard nothing. Why, the very idea was preposterous to them. Then without batting an eyelid, back on the MSM they'd pop and tell any fool that would listen that Trump was finished.

It's pointless going after Trump for treason, albeit it in a "normal" court where party politics would count for less.
That press conference where he blithely backed Putin against his own intelligence services was a dark moment but I always thought that was more a case of a toad croaking at another toad (Trump had a habit of sweet talking whoever he was physically closest to at the time as long as it wasn't a journalist).
As for the election interference, the best approach there is to learn the lesson that there is a threat out there and take steps to counter it. We've already seen that the evidence there is opaque at best. You'd end up with a longer saga and no doubt the whipping up of Trumpism as long as it lasted, in a way that is looking increasingly unlikely to happen with this impeachment trial.
If Trump can't be convicted of inciting a mob of armed weirdos to interrupt the confirmation of a legal and fair ballot when the evidence is on film (and don't forget the arguably equally damning attempt to get an official in Georgia to "change" the result there which they decided not to include on the rap sheet)
well, then that probably says more about, and unofficially condemns, many (but certainly not all) of the senators in his party.

The most amazing statement for a while was made by Time magazine last week. The election was not rigged ... it was "fortified" by the press, internet content controllers, and social influencers with a personal vested interest. they said.
"" the participants want the secret history of the 2020 election told, even though it sounds like a paranoid fever dream–a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information. They were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it.""
Unbelievable isn't it? The full Time piece is in the link.

Republicans if they want to move on should distance themselves from Trumpism. That assumes they want to move on.

Oh, that's all right then.
In fact, I think you mean that only 1 person was shot dead in the building.
And the key phrase is "in the building". As in, none of those people should have been there, and they were lucky that many more were not shot.

Of his challenges in state courts, 61 out of 62 failed. The lone state, where there were concerns, it transpired that it had no bearing on the end result. Not a single vote. These were Democrat and Republican states. Utterly extraordinary that anyone could be with Trump on this one. He even said he'd challenge the vote before the vote.
