If the membership have a say (which they should, having been effectively told that they are unimportant - not a wise move) he's in with a shout. Suella Braverman has cleared some space for herself and she's been quite impressive despite no back-up from the ex-P.M.. I originally wanted her or Kemi Badenoch and I'd stick with that.

I think the full details are yet to be released, but Graham Brady made clear that the party members would be consulted, or at least that there was still time to. Presumably this means an online ballot, or perhaps canvassing by literally knocking on doors.
Of course, it could be moot if, as you say, MPs agree on a single candidate (Sunak). But the divisions laid bare in Summer's contest won't have gone away, and are if anything worse, so I am not sure he can command majority support among MPs just yet. We'll see. Things will move quickly over the weekend, hopefully.
