Taking into account the Charity Worker's name and appearance I consider quite a few people would query where she was from and not intend any offence. The situation, as it has become, would not have arisen if she had just explained politely and not jumped on the woke "'cos I'm different" bandwagon. Naomi; I thought she had already been dumped. She had to write a letter of apology, didn't she? If the Royals have any heart (and I'm sure they have in private) they'll probably make sure she's alright financially (if that's necessary). But the public image has to be protected, so there's no public defence of the lady from the Firm.
Naomi; Some might say the you are 'woke'. You are highly alert to anything that offends your opinions, and you pounce on possible offenders before there is any sustainable evidence - you always take the same side; i.e. you are totally predictable. I must say I had something similar happen to me where I was questioned about my ethnicity (being olive tone). At first I replied 'South London' and they then then replied 'no, but where do you originate from?'. So I told them where and they then said 'so you're not British then?'. Made me feel a bit awkward tbh and I then felt obliged to tell them all my background until they understood that I am actually British! Surely my Saff London accent was a giveaway, innit!
Don't worry atheist, there are enough on here blowing enough smoke that eventually, we will all understand that the victim of breathtaking rudeness and patronizing was entirely deserving of it, and should be flogged in public asap.
Stick around, this time tomorrow we'll be having Lady Hussey addressing parliament about the tragic results of the death of the Empire, and how 'foreigners' simply don't know their place anymore.
