//Reuters issued a "kill notice" telling its clients not to publish the picture. The Associated Press (AP) sent out a "photo kill" email accusing the source of the image of "manipulating" the picture....The photo, designed to cool the conversation around the Princess of Wales's recovery, has instead heated all the rumours up again..//

It was Kate herself who edited it! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68534359

It's all a bit odd .

> the Twitterati aren't buying Kate's explanation. for one, there's a query how someone who's recently had "abdominal surgery" could squeeze into a pair of painted-on jeans......

Yeah, and Prince Louis has got his fingers crossed ... 🙄

Sorry naomi. I got embroiled with the chuckle brothers clown fest and a mod on another post.🤔

S'all right, Sarge.  As you were.  ;o)

Don't really see the problem in Kate seeking to have the best picture possible to put out there on Mothers day, what mother wouldn't seek the best. I very much doubt a picture of her 10 mins after rolling out of bed would work to well. I went to great trouble on my phone to produce a bus pass shot. :0)

All Correct M'aam.😆

Being discussed on Jeremy Vine Radio 2 right now.......

In all honesty does anyone really care?  Lassie has an op.  All apparently went well - happens to hundreds of women every day. Do we really need all the nit picking about a photo?

it worked OK for Cherie Blair....... 🤣🤣

Yes thousands of women do have opperations, but they don't have to endure such nit picking while in recovery. Shame really because she seems to be a natural caring member of the RF and also a great mum. Just hope her children are kept away from such nit picking?

It's clear the pciture was tampered with but *why* will remain a mystery. Also, this isn't a case of choosing the best picture. If it were, then there would be no issues. It's the fact that there are 11 questionable edits to a single picture which drives this story.

It's not nit-picking when you look at a photo and ask "Why is your daughter's hand disappearing into thin air?"

Mrs Blair never looked better.

maybe if they were to publish the unaltered picture everything would become clear(er)?

Along with the tousled ten minute one please.

Who gives a toss on whether the photo was doctored or not? The aim was to show the traditional Mother's Day photo.

Now I've looked at the photograph, what is going on with their hands,? they all look a bit strange.

"Who gives a toss on whether the photo was doctored or not? The aim was to show the traditional Mother's Day photo."

The reason why people give a toss is because its publication is fuelling rumours about the duchess' state of health.

The picture wasn't simply a nice Mother's Day photo. It had another job to do - to say "Hey, look - Catherine is on the mend so pipe down with the conspiracy theories".

However, because it's now apparent that the photo was doctored, it itself is being held up as proof that something dodgy is going on.

Publishing the unedited photo would stop all this.

> Kensington Palace said it would not be reissuing the original unedited photograph of Kate and her children.

That suggests that there is no single, original, unedited photograph - e.g. because it was a composite of a number of pictures, or because it was created by AI.

Changing a family photograph to improve it and getting it wrong is hardly proof of a conspiracy.

Believing that the Princess of Wales edits her family photos then releases them to the Associated press is even harder to believe.
