Has Princess Kate's Picture Been Tampered With?
//Reuters issued a "kill notice" telling its clients not to publish the picture. The Associated Press (AP) sent out a "photo kill" email accusing the source of the image of "manipulating" the picture....The photo, designed to cool the conversation around the Princess of Wales's recovery, has instead heated all the rumours up again..//

This has been an utter PR disaster. Twitter (and no doubt the rest of the internet) has been alive with conspiracy theories - some potentially believable and others which are fanciful in the extreme - since the PoW was admitted to hospital earlier in the year. Despite the fact that it was said that she would not be back in harness til Easter, theories have continued to be trotted out all over the globe (including the fact that she is actually dead!). It is entirely possible that she just wanted some privacy and recovery time following a medical procedure. The fact that this was kept private seems to have fuelled speculation since the press seem to think that she is not entitled to any sort of privacy at all over what might be sensitive medical matters.
This picture was then released. They normally release a picture of some form or another on Mother's Day, Father's Day etc, so if they hadn't more speculation would have ensued. So a picture was released with some terrible editing and this has just added to it. There is an element of damned if they do and damned if they don't.
But like anyone, she probably wanted to improve the pic. I spent ages a few weeks ago editing a photo that I was going to have printed for my mum. In the event I never got to finish it, but I can see how things can go wrong - my poor dad ended up looking like he has 2 thumbs on one hand and mum has something growing out of her ear.
