Just heard that the muslim teaching assistant, who refused to remove her veil in class,as now been dismissed by the local authority. In my opinion this is a victory for common sense. Your views please.
Good riddance & I couldn't care a less what people think of that!
If a teacher had have appeared in the classroom looking like that when our daughters were at school, I would have taken them out & taught them myself at home until an alternative was found - end of!
Yep, I like this one too. Some common sense at last. Makes a change.
Always interests me that topics of this nature always have a good response... but rarely people would air their opinions outside the walls of their house. Probably because someone within ear shot would be "offended". Crazy.
Anyway, back to the point. I believe this has nothing to to with being racist. The simple fact is that if your mouth is covered up, then of course your pupils aren't going to hear a ruddy word you're saying!
i'd like to know why, all of a sudden, muslims all over the place are starting to insist on wearing them everywhere, whereas before all this palaver they didn't?
i lived in bradford for 2 years, in the centre, and i probably recall seeing about 10 people in burkhas in that whole time -
that was about 12 years ago.
i think its time they adapted the burkha for the 21st century and allow for just the features to show.
Aside from any religious debate I saw an interview with her and her lawyer and on a purely personal basis, the way she was in general, I wouldn't want her teaching my kids!
