Have just heard that the Portugese police are intending to charge Kate McCann in connection with Madeline's disappearance. Is this anything to do with the DNA evidence that was sent for examination in the UK? Anyway, I can't believe that either parent had anything to do with it. What do other AB'ers think?

I'm fairly new to this site so haven't been involved in any previous discussions on the Madeleine McCann case.

I have always said from day one how strange it is to see the parents on TV - strolling around the beach, taking a jog by the beach etc - never sheding a single tear! Cast your minds back to when Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman disappeared. In the two weeks they were missing, their parents were on and off TV in appeals etc and they looked absolutely destroyed and consistently cried.

I agree people deal with things differently, but this grief has now been with them for 127 days... and they haven't crumbled in front of the media and shed ONE tear? Not ONCE?!

That poor girl, whether found or not, will soon be remembered as being "the mysterious disappearing girl" as opposed to "that beautiful girl with those gorgeous big eyes and beautiful smile." It's disgusting how much is being taken away from her. She is still a missing little girl.

In a rather comforting way (if that is the right word) I hope the mother did kill Maddie in a weird way. At least the poor child would not have suffered at the hands of some sexual molester.

Obviously, I hope the child is found safe and well, but if fate has it that she has demised, then a quick kill from the hands of a misguided or possible pscychotic parent is surely better than her being locked and abused by a nonce.

Whatever the outcome, justice will be served one day.

Personally, I do not think the mother is involved. I know it is a very shallow thing to say, but she looks quite sane, and indeed pretty. Rose West, Maxine Carr, Myra Hindley on the other hand all looked a bit odd.

I don't have figures but I'm sure someone has that states how many murderers are actually known to their victim.

Attractive women can and do kill. Remember Tracey Andrews, the former model who killed her boyfriend and then concocted an elaborate story of an alleged road rage attack, in which she claimed that her boyfriend Lee Harvey had been fatally wounded ? She appeared on tv sporting a black eye and cuts and bruises sustained in the alleged attack, sobbing and appealing for his killer to be apprehended but was subsequently charged with his murder.

Is DNA still only matched at so many points in the chain even when relatives are involved?

WHo knows but I find it hard to believe that they would have been able to keep a body for 25 days. I mean where the eff would you store it.

Sadly I am exempt from jury service, which is a shame.

Yes pretty women kill, but on the whole female child killers tend to be old dogs. Even Louise Woodward was a bit of a pig.

I haven't found them guilty, john. I just don't see why it is so unbelievable if they are.

Parents have been killing their children for centuries.

Wardy ~ Rose West was quite a looker in her youth (when she started killing) I think her years of depravity ravaged her. I don't think that Kate McCann is particularly pretty..but that's going off topic really!

I don't think it's delight on Mr P's part. he is actually pretty angry about it. I have had to calm him down with jaffa cakes and hot chocolate ~ honestly.

i have no wish to contribute anymore to this whole tragedy today,, this is what we do know, WE KNOW NOTHING . lets stop the speculation and the topic of wheather or not one must be unattractive enough to be a child killer ...
