The Club is now Open.

Good evening and welcome one and all.

Members are advised to take especial care in the corridors this week as polishing has been done 'with a will'. This is odd, as it is usually done with floor polish and a duster, but who am I to question such things ?

Please leave your raffle contributions on the usual table in the hall.

So far we have:

A tin of John West pink salmon (sell by date obscured by rust)

A box of Milk Tray (soft centres only, hardly any with teeth marks)

A box of dental floss. (unused).

When you were away, Mamya ..I won not a thing...words can scarcely describe the decline.
I was bedbound for days.
Storm cones were hoisted.

Question Author
There's nothing left for you but to break out the gin then , Daisy.
A very late good evening to all.
Has the raffle been drawn? If not, I would like to contribute:

One knitting needle
A DVD - How to Tell left from Right Using a Snooker Ball to Demonstrate
A ticket to see Roy Orbison - unused - for a concert in 1973
A carrier bag full of odd socks
Prefer Scotch this time of year, thankyou.
Question Author
All prizes count, Nungate.

When I was working I won the top prize in a raffle once, but because it was drawn on my day off, they gave it to someone else ...and yes, they did know it was my ticket that won it.
Not pleased. Not pleased at all. Went into a grand decline.
(It was a food hamper which I didn't particularly want, but that's not quite the point.)
Question Author
Hello Mrs O.

Too late this week, but we can roll over the raffles.
I've always been partial to a little nip of gin, Milady. Have you tried putting ice cubes in a nice tall glass, then add about 50 ml of good gin, top up with the same of cranberry juice and fill up to the top with some lemonade? Quite delish and so refreshing on a warm summer evening, but that's another story for another evening
Question Author
Have never tried gin and cranberry, but I too enjoy a drop of gin. Usually G&T with lime and some lime juice squeezed in.
Will give it a go sometime soon.
