Good evening and welcome to Nungate Towers.
Igor is at the door waiting to welcome you all, be careful if he offers to take care of your coats, and cloaks and broomsticks, you may never see them again.
Tonight's Tailcock is the Big Bertha, an anticipatory sort of brew.....
The running buffet has become firm favourite and will be running round the Towers yet again this evening - try and catch it if you can! For those members who are less fit (or just lazy) we have set up a nice supper in the snug. There you will find sorts of goodies as well as our world famous volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers.
As we still have a semblance of pleasant weather, we can indulge in some out door activities this evening, there are some pleasant walks around the rose garden, and the lake, we can stroll down to the beach (water is a tad cold and not really suitable paddling) The outdoor pool is heated so anyone who would like to go swimming can borrow a swimsuit.
Our favourite local band, The Tone Deafs have gone off on a tour of the Outer Hebrides so we have engaged the services of DJ Bernard for dancing down in the ballroom. All our usual facilities are available for members use so come on in and join the party
A warm welcome awaits who dare enter these portals

I loved the "this shower can't bat. My pub side can bat better than that, with two or three pints in them."

Pause

"Maybe the Indians should have two or three pints inside them first."

True............
England declared so India would have to bat. Plan to get them out before
Bertha rolled in.

Evening DT, I hope you are well? Nice ode.

Tony La Liga starts soon too, I'm all set up for Sky's European footie channel!
If I suddenly disappear it's down to a new programme on history channel about 1st day of the Somme - a subject which interests me greatly I shall be around though
What channel is it on, nungate.
It's starting here now, tony; quite wet out there.
Is there any wind with it, DT.
Daisy, do you have rain yet ?.
Question Author
Discovery History do you get that one? It's called Spirits of the Somme if only I could transfer some of the stuff I've found. Still can't say what exactly happened but the picture is enormous!
There were tremendous thunderstorms here yesterday afternoon. Very loud and very wet. The Towers cats got very nervous.
No rain, did have a light shower earlier this morning.
Hi DT. Nice verse.
Haven't got that channel, nungate.

Good man, Igor. Never show fear in front of a cat !.

What was making the window stick, Daisy ?.
No idea! The button on the handle would not depress. One of those that locks with a key.
Mmmmm, sounds like it's not fully unlocking when you turn the key, probably needs a new handle, Daisy.
a drop of WD40 in it...?
Kept jiggling it when the room got to and discovered that if I pressed the top of the button thingy before I pressed it all, it opened! Now that's Magic.
Well done, Daisy. Button is knackered.
Question Author
