see this is the thing the reason i ask this question is personal to me!! but i recently have found that gypsy are percieved very wrong, someone i no is a gypsy he lives in a house with his parents brothers and sisters, they have never lived in a caravan his grandmother does but she is the cleanist person you could evr meet, Irish gypsys are the ones that give nice gypsys a bad name you no the type that park there caravans on spare ground and leave rubbish!! but this friend of mine gets called a pikey and other names,...... and he finds it very hard to trust people because of these remarks!!!
Romanies are an ethnic group, forgetmenot. It's kinda like someone saying you can't be a Brit if you live in America say.

ah he's just got romany in him then. Like I've got London blood in my family but I wouldnt call myself a Londoner. We have gypsies in our town. And the council built toilet blocks with showers for them. And half of them they burnt out and stuck cr@p in. Some of the older ones I talk to but the younger ones think they have to live up to some kind of name which believe me isn�t a good one. But as for Romany gypsies in Romany caravans I find them very intriguing.

The Roma is a clearly defined race of people that, like the English, contains good and bad. Not all the English are like David Beckham, Ian Huntley or David Cameron - some of them are quite nice. Similarly in other countries/races.
Humanity is varied. Different races and communities are varied. Celebrate the diversity.
