Please point me in the direction of a "scholar" that you think can educate me in evolution, medicine and science. i would be very interested in discussing the truth of evolutionary science with the scholar who taught you that evolution meant that humanity had descended from monkeys.......

Sith - I suggest you take up LazyGun on his assertion that muslim medicine was a rehash of Galen (that's nonsense)
There was a basis on it but it went way further than that
http://en.wikipedia.o...u_al-Qasim_al-Zahrawi
http://en.wikipedia.o...%28medieval_writer%29
showed Galen wrong
In fact read about these people here

Sith, I'll be blunt, you are wasting your time arguing with the atheists posting on this thread. They are using logical argument based on a vast fund of communal knowledge, you are not. It would be better if you either devoted yourself to the koran like a good muslim or acquired enough knowledge to assemble a cogent argument to support your assertions. Best not to kick a wasp's nest when you don't have to.

Naomi Galen never did any autopsies on live humans muslim scholars were the first to do so and the first to point out his errors.
They were doing cataract operations for goodness sake! To characterise the golden age of muslim scholarship as just rehashing the Greeks is to fall for some pretty bad anti-Islamic propaganda put about by people who can't cope with the idea of a brilliant Muslim civilisation while we were painting ourselves blue.

Jake, as far as I can see nobody has suggested that a golden age of Muslim scholarship didn't exist - simply that Mohammed, supposedly the sole author of the Koran - and reputedly illiterate - didn't live during that 'golden age' and therefore cannot be numbered among those scholars. Unless you believe that Mohammed actually received the Koran directly from Allah, in which case Allah didn't know his science, then a little research will reveal that Mohammed took his information from the works of other, earlier civilisations, including the Greeks - and he included some of their errors in his masterpiece. In fact only recently I asked Keyplus what happened to the Islam of that golden age, which no one denies existed, so actually, I think it's pretty poor form of you to attempt to support your argument by bringing anti-Islamic propaganda accusations into the discussion when the reality is nothing of the sort. The facts speak for themselves and they are available to anyone who cares to read them.

//also naomi, your earlier question about humans being turned into pigs, that was a punishment from god for doing bad,//
It wasn't a question - it was a statement - and I think you'll find it was mainly the Jews and Christians that were turned into monkeys and apes. Well, they deserved it, didn't they? Bad through and through!
You invited me to ask any questions I like, so here's one. How can anyone who has received the benefits of a modern, western 21st century education actually believe such superstitious nonsense?

because Naomi i do not believe that its superstitious. of course there are some things i do not agree with, like personally i do not believe in the pig thing of turning into one if you are bad. however i do not eat pig as i do not like it as i have tried it before i converted and also i dont think it is hygienic. i beleive in the basis of islam, which is the 5 pillars of islam which are shahadah, salah, zakaat, sawm and hajj (tell me if you want me to explain them) and also the quraan. i hope i answered your question :)
@JtP - Before you get on your high horse with me - I was not saying that early muslim civilisation did not contribute anything, but that for those supporters of the koran who now claim that it contained original medical and scientific methology with no contribution from Greek philosophers such as Galen and Hippocrates.
