When Does An 'Ordinary' Muslim Become An Extremist?
We're often told that there is a difference between 'ordinary' Muslims and extremists, so ignoring those who call for violence and Islamic domination as they march in support of Palestine, but thinking only of the Muslim school children and their parents and supporters who are making news by intimidating students into adopting the hijab, to observe Islamic fasting rituals, and to withdraw from some school activities because they are considered 'haram'; the student who is battling her school in court (at the taxpayers' expense) for the 'right' to pray during school hours, the protestors outside schools, causing one to close early in order to protect staff and pupils, and those who are threatening teachers to the extent that they fear travelling on public transport, one of whom is still, after a very long time, in hiding. The people who are responsible for all of this carry on their regular everyday lives living among us. Are they 'ordinary' Muslims - or are they extremists?

I never inferred this thread was aout Gaza or you. My answer above was referring Untitleds answer to Khandro above me not to you.
It was khandro that changed the subject.
"May I turn that question around and ask, what would you have done if you found your government had been storing bombs and rockets under your child's school and carrying out the barbaric practice of taking babies, children & elderly infirm ladies as hostages?"
i actually asked you first khandro and you have neatly avoided the question... if i found out that the tories had stored rockets under schools and taken children hostage then i would take to the streets and protest about it. but i live in a country where that is possible (for now) without serious physical danger. if i did live in such a place-as people in gaza do-them i would probably keep my mouth shut.
please do me the courtesy of answering me now that i have answered you.
untitled; Being 'old' makes it easier and less scared of dying.
Being younger like Alexei Navalny the Russian opposition leader, lawyer, anti-corruption activist who is now being held in a freezing Siberian jail as a political prisoner on a 19 years sentence, a bogus charge by Putin, - that takes a real man and real guts.
Naomi. Very few people have been curt or nasty to me over the years. I've had a couple of people telling me I'm not liked or being nasty since the 7th October threads. That doesn't bother me at all.
I have noticed far far more nasty threads about you and your attitudes in recent times.
I'm leaving this thread now.
