You say 16:25,
"Please explain what to me appears to be a Riddle from you, involving the Pope."
This in reference to my assertion that even the Pope doesn't take 'imago dei' literally, as you appear to do.
I answered by directing you to where you would find a very comprehensive answer, - to where I'm sure you didn't even bother to look, & now you can't even remember what it was you saw as a riddle & also have the cheek to say that I avoid answers.
Like all prejudiced people, you don't actually want answers, your opinions are formed without an understanding of the facts, & I shall not waste my time on you.

That isn’t the point I refuted. I am well aware that no baby is born with faith of any description. However, Pixie’s advice to Theland was to ‘work out what changed your mind and why’ - and that is illogical because nothing changed Theland’s mind. He was born into a Christian society and has been immersed in that culture from birth.
archibaldy "Theland, you are already an Atheist about many of the thousands of gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.
That's an adapted quote by Dawkins which sums it all up for me."
In amongst all the playground polemics that is the best answer by a country mile.

No psychologist I have ever heard of has ever suggested that a child is born as a Christian -or of any other religious denomination, but what has been said is that within the human psyche with which one is born, there is drive towards a spirituality, this can be clearly demonstrated in every society's worship of some form of deity since the beginning of humanity.
This has been described as part of the 'collective unconscious'.

Khandro...This is Theland's thread but he has deserted it.
However, like Theland, you direct people to articles written by others and endeavour to use them as proof of that which you have been indoctrinated. You now wish me to believe what the Pope says but refrain from answering question because you appear to be unable to think for yourself. Anyway, the following is 'food for thought'
There is a story that the first man in space (Yuri Gagarin ) upon returning to earth was greeted by the then leader of the Soviet Union ( Nikita Khrushchev) who asked him, " When you were traveling around the world did you feel that there might be a Creator of the Universe" Gagarin answered, " Yes". Krushchev then admitted that he thought likewise, but for the sake of the Soviet Union's political and religious position in the world, that should remain a secret between them. Gagarin promised accordingly .
It has been alleged that Gagarin then visited a number of Countries and upon arriving in Italy was granted an audience with the Pope, who asked a similar question as had been raised by Khrushchev. Gagarin remembered the promise he had made and replied with a resounding "No". The Pope then said "Exactly as I think ,but we must keep that as a secret between us".
Hans.

When confronted with insufficient facts on which to base an informed decision the brain attempts to fill that void with a narrative. It is this void it seems to me that religion attempts to fill. Knowledge and ignorance can be equally powerful in directing human behavior. I have selected the former to be the overriding force in the formation of my world view.
Khandro - // ... this can be clearly demonstrated in every society's worship of some form of deity since the beginning of humanity. //
No argument there, I have been saying as much on this site for years.
My question to you is - from all the deities worshipped since the beginning of humanity - what makes yours the only one worth following?
Any chance of a straight answer, from you, not some talking head with a video camera and a fondness for the sound of their own voice?

Only the bible describes a creation account that makes sense, a creation from above, beyond and outside of the created universe.
All other religions don't stand up to scrutiny, and describe a creation account from within the universe, which is must plain stupid.
Our scientists work hard looking for the answers to the big questions, and so far have come up with zilch!
Yet they have a following that supports a naturalistic material worldview that is underpinning atheism, a stance that requires more faith than believing in God!
Look to some of your own atheistic science gurus, and take the very best of their arguments and try and convince me of the value of an atheist worldview.

Studying other religions is your take from that waffle?
Theland professes accuracy belief in cosmogony creationism and compares it to other religions, yet seems not to consider the elephant in the room that is the Big Bang.
Aside from that - not sure what persuasion they are - but they've clearly never heard of Brahma.
Beyond that, ‘making you an atheist’ is a futile pursuit.
