Got up at 8.30am made Himself a packed lunch and couldn't keep my eyes open. After my umpteenth cuppa I decided I needed some more sleep. Had another couple of hours. I often sleep much better if I go back to bed in the mornings. Perhaps because I am undisturbed!!
Had a great day at Chatsworth House and they had cleared all paths of snow so we were able to walk about ok. The house was decorated brilliantly and we stopped in Bakewell on the way there for a pub lunch. (For Vin>>)...Turkey Bap, with stuffing, salad and chips with a small boat of gravy which I dipped my chips in.
I know we don't like the cold and snow when we can't get out but up in Derbyshire it was far deeper than we've had it here and it looked so picturesque from the coach. On the coach I had a seat to myself and I took my boots off and put my feet on the radiator along the side of the seat., snug and warm there and back.
If I remember right somebody mentioned cat flaps, well.... yesterday my friend who has 4 cats cracked up laughing as their cat flap froze up and the cats were that puzzled cos they couldn't push it open.

lovely photo, Jude!
Right, Stan the man has looked at our computers - oh joy, it turns out he's moved into our street (he used to be miles away) so knows exactly how far we are from the exchange and how broad our band should be and says our service is terrible. So he's sending a list of odds and ends to buy plus where to get them cheapest and he'll come round and install them, and yell at Virgin down the phone line for us. I'm feeling much chirpier.

Bonsoir...well it turned out to be a better day than I thought it might be. Found the dept at the new hospital easily, hardly any waiting time and the doc said they'd discussed my case & that after 25 years they're waving me goodbye. They say they tend to do follow ups for hodgkins for about 10 years now, although I did think they were keeping me on for curiosity value as in 'In the olden days we treated them mean...'. I told him about the headaches but nowadays they don't seem to pass you on within the hospital as they used to, it's all this go back to square one (your gp) and start from scratch malarkey.
So it was onward to town, it was busy, and much spending was done. Not many xmas pressies, some expensive leather knee high boots (no Vinny, not black kinky ones). Would you believe I've never had any in my entire life of 36 yrs (shuttit)? I'm so chuffed I think I might wear them to bed :o). Sis has bought me a lovely black handbag but I can't have it until xmas...but I still need another one now to go with these boots...oh quel dommage.
Sounds like a lovely trip & you had a slightly more interesting lunch than we did Jude :o) Love the frozen catflap, bless em.
Glad you feel better neti. Hope everyone else is boogerin on okey dokey...I'll be good for nowt tomorrow 'cept for staring at me feet :o)

Yes that'll be it jno, these sepia coloured biddy's just aren't a good look for their shiny new hospitals. Actually it's all fur coat & no knickers, posh over-priced coffee bars, miles of corridors & bigger waiting areas with tv's & comfy chairs...and where do you end up? In a tiny basic cupboard of a consulting room.

Evening all
No internet all day here until about 7 pm .Perhaps Stan could come round here Jno .Perhaps he can shout louder than I do at Virgin.
But, new teevee up and running, we just need them to move the transmitter a bit nearer failing that we'll have to move to Norwich.I think we are going to get cable .Mr.S is mulling it over :) Though I managed to see Al Murrays prog about Germany on BBC 4 without the Freeview signal breaking up .
That's great news for you Robinia .All you need now is to get the headaches sorted ,put on your dancing boots, sling yer new bag on the floor and jiggle around it :)
I spent a jolly hour or so at the hospital today .Had to go and get the Warfarin for Mr S and a half hour wait turned into over a hour so had a coffee and sausage roll in the cafe while I waited .
Still very cold here but no snow so can't grumble,at least it's dry and we had a spot of sunshine too.
Hope you all have a peaceful night ,keep warm ,toodlepip for now .

Have just printed out a calendar for next year and put my doings on it, and it seems from Jan to June I will hardly be here. A little tripette to Paree to see the Monee exhibition, followed by a mega trip down under (I am going to descend on Kiwi Sis rather than Aussie Sis, her house is bigger), followed by a couple of weeks in Arizona courtesy of a special offer on BA. I'll wave any time I fly over Derby, of course.
Coming back here for summer, of course, I'll probably be pining for rain by then.
