Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

Morning all
Dry here atm thank goodness.
Rain has stopped play quite a bit over the weekend and is holding up the garden work. The shed has now completely gone into the skip.Amazing what junk I found in there. The lad next door took Shaney's basket and dog bowls for his woofer. I don't think he wants a tub of his old toys though.I think I only held onto them in the hope we may have got another dog :(
Hope you're all as well as ...KBO.
well that's nice... we used to pay about £550 for home insurance, but they raised the premium to £650, and our bank offered us a special deal of £450, so we switched. This year the bank put it up to £650, so I went back to the original insurers - who quoted us £300.

We haven't paid that little for 20 years. I don't really understand the insurance business.

..went to village, forgot how hot it has become, spilt coffee on my white jogging, received a parcel from a friend and it has a pair of wide linen trousers, a lovely striped cotton top and some silver casuals, I look very Riviera a la Grace Kelly! Bet she doesn't sweat like I do !
I kept dog toys for ages too shaney. I've still got their collars and tags though.

They were discussing insurers on the television recently and said that same thing. If you renew it costs a lot more than if you're a new customer....they said instead of paying up just try calling them to see what they can offer you. Or switch every year. Crazy.

I've still got hamster cage and toys from 10 yrs and birds toys ( dumped the rusty cage last year) from 4 yrs little bell tinkles in the drawer. :-(
Robinia, I told them I was an old customer (I figured I'd be on their records anyway) and asked for a quote on the same basis as before. Somehow it came out nearly cut in half.
well, we are expecting a man tomorrow, let's see.

Morning all. Hasn't the Elusive Gino been yet?
Lovely breezy but sweaty day. I've already cleaned the house made the bed, fed all cats swept and washed big patio, driven to the rubbish tip and dumped a lot. Now waiting for Hija to awaken so we can go out for brekkie ( I've had mine!)
Oooh, one of my favourites ^ ^

Morning...same old soggy and sinussy story here, it's seriously depressing. Can I claim for an oilskin and a raft on my insurance, the rubber buttons on my libby have gone mouldy.
I've just had a jackdaw in my garden, never knowingly seen one before. Maybe I have and thought they were crows but this one sat on the line prop a while.
Hello all
Another soggy dreary day. I've had my weekly bath and been rebandaged. Fed up with this weather now ,it's holding up the garden work. It absolutely chucked it down all afternoon yesterday.Lots of localised flooding and now it's raining again....Bgr it.
Hope you're all ok.
It actually stopped for a couple of hours but it's black sky and rain again now.
sigh
I've been clearing some old pics and look who popped up :)

Oh woofy do we know that young gardener man, could make me interested in gardening!
Yesterday my friend sent me some lovely wide white linen trousers, silver casual boat shoes and a blk/white cotton top. I wore them today. Felt really grand.
Hija and I went out for brekkie and then a tapas and a shandy on the beach, then round the shops, then home where we sunbathed on patio and I actually went in the pool 3 times, it was brrr to,start with but lovely.
Don't you remember him from the old days neti? I think he was officially Jude's gardener....until I stole him :)
Gino, where are you...
well, no sooner had I typed that than the doorbell rang... but it was just our Saudi neighbour popping by to give us a packet of dates.

Gino turned up five minutes later, took the pump to pieces, and found that the valve he'd put in it was broken. So he removed it to take back to the shop and demand his £20 back, and put another one in, and now it all works perfectly.

He wouldn't accept any payment for it (what a nice guy!) so we gave him the dates.
Just typed a long post which wouldn't post on here and disappeared. So here's a short version.
I'm back home after a rainy weekend and back to normal. Well normal as can be. Watching football. Tai Chi. Lunch. Curtains ironed and up in decorated bedroom. Tomorrow hair cut and school.
Now watching Jack Dee's referendum help desk on BBC 2 so funny.
Had a laugh reading your posts earlier. Hope I didn't bore you ;) and
I hope you're all ok and b.o. Like you do. Good night sweet dreams.
Hurray it got there!!!!
good night Jude!
